Washable wall paint REMAL Vinyl Color Mat is a premium colored washable paint with a velvety matte finish, excellent coverage, and abrasion resistance. The surface of the paint is gently washable. The coating is intended for painting walls and ceilings in interiors on plaster, drywall, and other substrates.
The product is easy to work with, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly. It exhibits washability with resistance to wet abrasion after 28 days - class 1. (measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998, classified according to EN 13300). Application method: brush, paint roller.
up to 12 m² /1 kg for one coat.
Old non-adhering coatings in thicker layers must be scraped off. Before painting, treat the surface with REMAL deep penetration primer. It will remove dust, strengthen, unify absorbency, and ensure adhesion. Drying time is 4 hours. Level out unevenness on the wall with REMAL filler. For retouching stains, for example, after water damage, it is advisable to use the isolating primer REMAL Flek-stop. Before use, thoroughly mix the coating, it is diluted for painting. If necessary, dilute with a maximum of 5% clean water. Apply with a short-pile REMAL Vinyl roller. The coating covers in one layer. Repaint at least after 4 hours. The optimal temperature for application is 15 to 25 °C. Clean contaminated areas as well as tools immediately after application with water; dried coating is difficult to remove.
Method of applying washable wall paint:
REMAL Vinyl roller with short fibers, brush, AIRLESS spraying - e.g., STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700, or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 with recommended pressure from 120 – 150 bars, nozzle size 515 or 517, filter for the gun 50 mesh. When spraying, we recommend always performing tests on the specific equipment in advance.
When working, observe basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, animal feed, drinking water, or for coatings of children's toys and furniture. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical attention. The product is treated with a biocide. It contains reactive mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EC number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EC number 220-239-6] (3:1). It may cause an allergic reaction.
covering material, such as paper masking tape or covering film, possibly sanding papers. Don't forget brushes, rollers, spatulas, and scrapers.
This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining resistance to wet abrasion and determining the washability of paint. As for the cleanability of coatings, it only specifies the testing method but does not specify contaminants. After drying and conditioning, the painted sample is weighed and subjected to cleaning cycles in a testing abrasion (cleaning) device. From the weight loss, the average thickness loss of the coating is calculated. To determine cleanability, contaminants are applied to equally prepared samples. Specified contaminants are left in contact with the coating film for the prescribed time. The painted, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminant has been removed and whether the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.
For evaluation, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the best – class 5 is the worst.
