Washable wall paint REMAL Vinyl Color Mat is a premium color washable paint with a velvet matte appearance, excellent coverage, and abrasion resistance. The surface of the paint is gently washable. The coating is designed for painting walls and ceilings indoors on plaster, drywall, and other substrates.
The product is easy to process, health-safe, and environmentally friendly. It shows washability and resistance to wet abrasion after 28 days - class 1. (measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998, classified according to EN 13300). Application method: brush, paint roller.
up to 12 m² /1 kg for one coat.
Old non-adhering coatings in thicker layers should be scraped off. Before painting, treat the surface with REMAL deep penetration primer. This will remove dust, strengthen, unify absorbency, and ensure adhesion. Drying time is 4 hours. Even out unevenness on the wall with REMAL filler. For touching up stains, for example after leaking, it is advisable to use the isolating coat REMAL Flek-stop. Before use, thoroughly mix the coating; it is diluted for painting. If necessary, dilute with a maximum of 5% clean water. Apply with REMAL Vinyl roller with short hair. One coat covers. Recoat after a minimum of 4 hours. The optimal temperature for application is 15 to 25 °C. Clean contaminated areas and work tools immediately after application with water; dried coating is difficult to remove.
Method of applying washable wall paint:
REMAL Vinyl roller with short hair, brush, airless spraying - e.g. STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700, or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 recommended pressure from 120 - 150 bar, nozzle size 515 or 517, filter for the gun 50 mesh. When spraying, we recommend always conducting tests on the specific equipment beforehand.
When working, follow basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, animal feed, drinking water, or for coatings of children's toys and furniture. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical attention. The product is treated with a biocide. It contains a reactive mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 220-239-6] (3:1). It may cause an allergic reaction.
covering material, such as paper adhesive tape or covering foil, possibly sanding papers. Don’t forget brushes, rollers, spatulas, and scrapers.
This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining resistance to wet abrasion and the washability of paint. As for the cleanability of coatings, it only establishes the testing method itself but does not specify the contaminants. After drying and conditioning, the coated sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in a testing abrasion (cleaning) device. The weight loss is used to calculate the average thickness loss of the coating. To determine cleanability, contaminants are applied to identically prepared samples. The specified contaminants are left in contact with the coating film for the prescribed time. The painted, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminant was removed and the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.
The evaluation uses 5 classes - class 1 is the best - class 5 is the worst.
