REMAL Standard is a classic natural water-based kaolin wall paint. It provides excellent coverage, is breathable, abrasion-resistant, and has a standard whiteness of 82%. REMAL wall paint is used for painting plaster, concrete, drywall, cement boards, particle boards, and renovation plasters in interiors. The paint is resistant to wet abrasion – measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998 – class 5. (classification according to EN 13300).
It is recommended for coatings in utility and industrial spaces. It is used for painting walls and ceilings indoors on plaster, drywall, and other substrates. It is easy to work with, safe for health, and environmentally friendly.
Before painting, remove layers of old and non-adhering coatings. Treat absorbent substrates with REMAL universal primer, treat non-adhering and crumbling substrates with REMAL deep primer. This will remove dust, strengthen the surface, unify absorbency, and ensure adhesion of the coating. Drying time is 4 hours. Smooth out wall irregularities with REMAL Filler. Dilute the paint at a maximum ratio of 0.4 l of water to 1 kg of paint. Then mix thoroughly.
Apply with a brush, roller, or spraying in 2 layers, applying the next layer after the previous one has dried, at least after 4 hours. The optimal temperature for painting is 15 to 25 °C. The temperature of the substrate and environment must not fall below 5 °C during application. For continuous areas, use the product from the same batch; mix products from different batches together before use.
While working, observe basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, animal feed, drinking water, or for coatings of children's toys and furniture. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical attention.
The product is treated with a biocide. Contains 1,3,5-tris(2-hydroxyethyl)hexahydro-1,3,5-triazin, 1,2-benzoisothiazol-3(2H)-one, reaction mixture: 5-chlor-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 220-239-6] (3:1), okthilinon (ISO). May cause an allergic reaction.
covering materials, such as paper masking tape or covering film, or sanding papers. Don't forget about brushes, rollers, spatulas, and putty knives.
This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes a rapid method for determining resistance to wet abrasion and washability of paint. Regarding the cleanability of coatings, it only stipulates the test method itself, but does not specify the contaminating substances. After drying and conditioning, the coated sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in the test abrasion (cleaning) device. From the loss in weight, the average value of the loss in coating thickness is calculated. To determine cleanability, contaminating substances are applied to equally prepared samples. Specified contaminating substances are left in contact with the coating film for the prescribed time. Coated, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminating substance has been removed and the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.
For evaluation, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the best – class 5 is the worst. Grading as in school.
