REMAL Standard is a classic natural water-based kaolin wall paint. It has excellent coverage, is breathable, abrasion-resistant, and has a standard whiteness of 82%. REMAL wall paint is used for painting plaster, concrete, drywall, cement boards, chipboard, and renovation plasters in interiors. The paint shows resistance to wet abrasion – measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998 – class 5. (classification according to EN 13300).
It is recommended for coatings in utility and industrial spaces. It is used for painting walls and ceilings in interiors on plasters, drywall, and other substrates. It is easy to process, health safe, and environmentally friendly.
Before painting, remove layers of old and non-adherent coatings. Treat absorbent substrates with REMAL universal primer, unbonded and crumbling substrates with REMAL deep primer. This will remove dust from the surface, strengthen it, unify absorbency, and guarantee adherence of the coating. Drying time is 4 hours. Smooth out unevenness on the wall with the REMAL Putty. Dilute the coating in a ratio of max. 0.4 l of water to 1 kg of paint. Then mix thoroughly.
Apply with a brush, roller, or spraying in 2 coats, applying the next coat after the previous one has dried, at least after 4 hours. The optimal temperature for painting is 15 to 25 °C. The temperature of the substrate and the environment must not drop below 5 °C during application. Use product from the same batch for uniform surfaces; mix different batches together before use.
Follow basic hygiene rules while working. The product is not intended for coatings coming into direct contact with food, feed, drinking water, or for coatings on children's toys and furniture. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical help.
The product is treated with a biocide. Contains 1,3,5-tris(2-hydroxyethyl)hexahydro-1,3,5-triazin, 1,2-benzoisothiazol-3(2H)-one, reaction mix: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EC number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EC number 220-239-6] (3:1), okthilinone (ISO). May cause an allergic reaction.
covering material, such as paper adhesive tape or covering foil, or sanding papers. Don’t forget brushes, rollers, scrapers, and spatulas.
This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining resistance to wet abrasion and washability of the paint. As for the cleanability of the coatings, it only defines the testing method itself but does not specify the contaminating substances. After drying and conditioning, the painted sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in a test abrasion (cleaning) device. The mean weight loss is calculated from the amount of thickness loss of the coating. For determining cleanability, contaminating substances are applied to equally prepared samples. The specified contaminating substances are left in contact with the coating film for a prescribed time. The painted, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is assessed whether the contaminating substance has been removed and the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.
For the assessment, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the best – class 5 is the worst. Grading as in school.
