Washable wall paint REMAL Vinyl Color Mat represents a premium toned washable paint with a velvet matte finish, excellent coverage and abrasion resistance. The created surface can be gently washed. The paint is suitable for coatings of interior walls and ceilings on substrates made of plaster, drywall, and other materials.

The product is easy to work with, is health-friendly, and environmentally friendly. It exhibits washability of the paint with wet abrasion resistance after 28 days - class 1. (measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998, classification according to EN 13300). Application method: brush, paint roller.

Application procedure for washable paint:

Thicker layers of original non-adhering coatings must be scraped off. Before painting, treat the surface with REMAL deep penetration primer. This will dust it off, strengthen it, achieve uniform absorbency, and ensure good adhesion. Drying time is 4 hours. Any unevenness on the wall should be leveled with REMAL putty. For covering stains, e.g. from leaks, it is advisable to use REMAL Flek-stop isolation coating. Before use, thoroughly mix the coating; it is diluted for painting. If necessary, dilute with a maximum of 5% clean water. Apply with a REMAL Vinyl roller with short hair. The coating covers in one layer. Recoat after at least 4 hours. The optimal application temperature is 15 to 25 °C. Clean contaminated areas and work tools immediately after application with water; dried coating is difficult to remove.

Method of applying washable wall paint:

REMAL Vinyl roller with short hair, brush, AIRLESS spraying - e.g. STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700 or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 recommended pressure from 120 – 150 bar, nozzle size 515 or possibly 517, filter for the gun 50 mesh. When using spraying, we recommend always conducting tests on the specific equipment in advance.

Handling with washable paint REMAL:

When working, follow basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings coming into direct contact with food, feed, drinking water, or for coatings of children's toys and furniture. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical help. The product is treated with a biocide. It contains a reactive mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 220-239-6] (3:1). It may cause an allergic reaction.

Washability of paint in practice is addressed by the standard ABRASION RESISTANCE WITH WATER ČSN EN ISO 11998

The international standard ISO EN 11998 defines an accelerated procedure for determining resistance to wet abrasion as well as washability of paint. In the area of cleanliness of coatings, it exclusively defines the testing procedure itself, but does not specify the specific contaminants. After drying and conditioning, the sample with the coating is weighed and then exposed to wet cleaning cycles in the test abrasion (cleaning) device. The loss of weight establishes the average value of the thinning of the coating layer. During the cleanliness testing, the pollutants are applied to identically prepared samples. The substances remain in contact with the coating film for a specified duration. The thus contaminated coated samples undergo cleaning cycles and are subsequently assessed for whether the contamination has been removed and whether the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.

Five classes are used for assessment - class 1 is the best – class 5 is the worst.
