Washable paint for walls REMAL Vinyl Color Mat is a premium colored washable paint with a velvet matte finish, excellent opacity, and abrasion resistance. The surface of the paint is gently washable. The coating is intended for painting walls and ceilings in interiors on plaster, drywall, and other substrates.
The product is easy to process, health-safe, and environmentally friendly. It exhibits washability and wet abrasion resistance after 28 days - class 1. (measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998, classified according to EN 13300). Application method: brush, paint roller.
up to 12 m² /1 kg for one coat.
Old non-adhering coatings in thicker layers should be scraped off. Before painting, treat the surface with REMAL deep penetration primer. This will remove dust, strengthen, unify absorbency, and ensure adhesion. Drying time: 4 hours. Level irregularities on the wall with REMAL filler. For touching up spots, e.g., after water leakage, it is advisable to use the isolating coating REMAL Flek-stop. Before use, mix the coating thoroughly, it is diluted for painting. If necessary, dilute with a maximum of 5% clean water. Apply with a short-haired REMAL Vinyl roller. The coating covers in one layer. Touch up at least after 4 hours. The optimal temperature for application is 15 to 25 °C. Clean contaminated areas and tools immediately after application with water, as dried paint is difficult to remove.
Method of application for washable paint on walls:
REMAL Vinyl roller with short hair, brush, spraying AIRLESS - e.g., STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700 or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 recommended pressure 120 – 150 bar, nozzle size 515 or 517, filter for the gun 50 mesh. When spraying, we recommend conducting tests on the specific equipment beforehand.
While working, follow basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, animal feed, drinking water, or for coatings of children's toys and furniture. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical help. The product is treated with a biocide. It contains a reactive mixture: 5-chlor-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EC number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EC number 220-239-6] (3:1). It may cause an allergic reaction.
covering materials, such as paper adhesive tape or covering foil, or sanding papers. Don’t forget brushes, rollers, pads, and spatulas.
This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining wet abrasion resistance and washable paint. Concerning the cleanability of coatings, it only specifies the testing method but does not specify the contaminating substances. After drying and conditioning, the coated sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in a testing abrasion (cleaning) device. From the weight loss, the average value of the coating thickness loss is calculated. To determine cleanability, contaminating substances are applied to similarly prepared samples. Specified contaminating substances are left in contact with the paint film for the prescribed time. Coated, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminating substance has been removed and whether the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.
For evaluation, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the best - class 5 is the worst.
