Washable wall paint REMAL Vinyl Color Matt is a premium colored washable paint with a velvety matte appearance, excellent coverage, and abrasion resistance. The paint's surface is gently washable. The coating is intended for painting walls and ceilings indoors on plaster, drywall, and other substrates.
The product is easy to work with, health-safe, and environmentally friendly. It demonstrates washability and resistance to wet abrasion after 28 days - class 1. (measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998, classified according to EN 13300). Application method: brush, roller.
up to 12 m² /1 kg for one coat.
Old loose coatings in thicker layers must be scraped off. Before painting, treat the surface with REMAL deep penetration primer. This will remove dust, strengthen, unify absorbency, and ensure adhesion. Drying time is 4 hours. Level out wall irregularities with REMAL filler. For retouching spots, e.g., after leaking, it is advisable to use the insulating coating REMAL Flek-stop. Before use, stir the paint thoroughly; it is diluted for painting. If necessary, dilute with a maximum of 5% clean water. Apply with REMAL Vinyl roller with short pile. The paint covers in one coat. Retouch at least after 4 hours. The optimal temperature for application is 15 to 25 °C. Clean contaminated areas and tools immediately after application with water; dried paint is difficult to remove.
Method of application for washable wall paint:
REMAL Vinyl roller with short pile, brush, airless spraying - e.g., STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700 or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 recommended pressure from 120 – 150 bar, nozzle size 515 or 517, gun filter 50 mesh. When applying by spraying, it is recommended to always conduct tests on specific equipment beforehand.
When working, follow basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings coming into direct contact with food, animal feed, drinking water, or for coatings on children's toys and furniture. Keep out of reach of children. If you do not feel well, seek medical help. The product is treated with biocide. It contains a reactive mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 220-239-6] (3:1). It may cause allergic reactions.
covering material, such as paper masking tape or covering foil, or sanding papers. Don't forget brushes, rollers, edging tools, and spatulas.
This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining wet abrasion resistance and for establishing the washability of paint. Regarding the cleanability of coatings, it only specifies the testing method itself but does not specify contaminating substances. After drying and conditioning, the coated sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in the testing abrasion (cleaning) device. From the weight loss, the average value of the thickness loss of the coating is calculated. To determine cleanability, contaminating substances are applied to similarly prepared samples. Specified contaminating substances are left in contact with the coating film for the prescribed time. Coated, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminating substance has been removed and the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.
For evaluation, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the best – class 5 is the worst.
