Farmhouse paint - Covering paint based on modified varnish with oil in water. Extremely penetrating water-dilutable covering paint for wood intended for hobby and professional use in outdoor and indoor environments. Significantly enhances the wood and perfectly highlights the wood's texture. Creates a velvety, pleasantly touchable semi-gloss surface that strongly repels water. Oils provide the paint with excellent penetrating properties while creating a fine highly pigmented film on the surface that preserves the wood's grain. It is applied directly to raw wood.

The paint contains a combination of UV filters that prevent coating degradation. The surface of the paint film is resistant to mold and fungi attack, preventing their penetration into the wood. Prevents water penetration into the wood, reducing its drying and cracking. Perfect substrate penetration prevents peeling of the paint. Linseed oil, in combination with other vegetable oils, extends the drying time of the surface. The paint is odorless and has a neutral character. The paint has certification for toys and products for children.

Usage:
interior and exterior, building cladding, cabins, garden houses, garden furniture, pergolas, wood in children's playgrounds, balconies, shutters, fences, shelters, balustrade infill.

Application:
brush or roller. Minimum application temperature 12 °C. Dust drying 8 - 6 hours, between coats 1 day.

Coverage:
12 to 15 m²/ kg.

Drying:

Application:
Socrates Farmhouse paint is applied evenly on a healthy, clean, dry, and sanded surface no. 80 – no. 100, with a brush or microfiber roller in an appropriate layer, which particularly during the first coat perfectly soaks in without wiping off the paint. A reasonable amount of paint must always remain on the surface to soak in. Gradually remove any excess, unabsorbed paint without creating significant puddles! However, the layer of paint must not be wiped and MUST always remain in an appropriate layer. The next coat is applied after the first layer has dried, which is approximately after 24 hours. Light sanding with sandpaper No. 100 – 120 can be performed between applications as needed. Lightly sanding the first coat will remove any fuzz and achieve a perfectly smooth, pleasant surface.

In outdoor and humid environments, where wood-boring fungi may pose a threat, it is necessary to treat the substrate with the biocidal agent Lignofix E-profi beforehand. A minimum of 48 hours must be observed between soaking the wood with Lignofix E-profi and applying the coating material.

You may find covering materials, such as paper adhesive tape or covering foil, or sanding papers. Don’t forget brushes and rollers.
