SOKRATES® Wood Stain is a water-dilutable stain. It is intended for outdoor and indoor environments, for industrial production, craft work, and hobby use. It protects wood from UV radiation. It creates a silky glossy, pleasantly soft matte surface. Modified linseed oil gives the stain extreme penetration properties. The highly hydrophobic stain minimizes moisture penetration into the wood. The surface of the Farmer's paint resists mold and fungi attacks. It prevents their further growth into the wooden substrate. The stain dries more slowly. It is not diluted before use. Only in case of necessity.

Use:
SOKRATES Wood Stain is intended for top coatings of outdoor wooden cladding of buildings, pergolas, fences, cottages, entrance doors, windows, and more. In interiors, it is used for coating ceilings, wall cladding, beams in attics, and similar. For outdoor use, it is recommended to treat the wood surface before application with sandpaper No. 80 - 100. NOT with a rotary sander. A perfectly smooth wood surface is not ideal. Although the Farmer's stain is not a special coating material for wooden floors, it is suitable for coatings of outdoor walking surfaces with a non-slip relief. For example, around pools, porches of cottages, and similar. For shoes soiled with sand and similar, a cleaning zone is appropriate. Compared to oils, it withstands weather influences many times longer. The recommended application layer is 2 to 3 coats, depending on the degree of load, exposure, and similar.
Where there is a risk of wood being attacked by wood-destroying fungi due to moisture, it is recommended to treat the wood with Lignofix E plus or another suitable biocidal agent before applying the stain. Another biocidal preparation must be tested in advance, and the manufacturer's recommended interval for subsequent applications of water-dilutable coatings must be strictly followed. Lignofix E plus must have a waiting time of 2 days before the stain. Shoes soiled with sand damage the surface. The soiled surface must not be forced, especially when wet, with hard brushes. There must be proper drainage of water from the surface of the floor. Non-absorbent woods with a high tannin content prolong drying.
Hard, less absorbent woods: oak, Siberian pine, Siberian larch, ash, etc. due to the high tannin content, subsequent slow drying, and the risk of leaching of tannins, we recommend applying the first coat of Farmer's stain diluted with water in the ratio of 1:1. After drying - about 12 - 24 hours, apply the second and third coats.
In wood species with a high tannin content (oak, black locust, teak, bangkirai, larch, Douglas fir, MERBAU !!!! caution), leaching due to rain may occur. This can cause stains on the wood and discoloration of light walls and plaster. Remember to use appropriate plumbing elements - drip edges.
Soft woods: – spruce, linden, alder, etc. SOKRATES® Wood Stain is applied to new wooden substrates 2 to 3 times, depending on the degree of surface stress. When renovating, careful removal of all previous coatings that may reduce the absorbency of the surface is necessary. These surfaces significantly prolong drying, start bleeding, staining, and can even cause a decrease in lifespan. After each use, carefully close the container. Do not leave the container open unnecessarily long!
Application:
SOKRATES Wood Stain is preferentially applied with a brush, suitable roller, or spraying, continuously smoothing with a brush at a minimum temperature of the coating, air, and substrate of +10 °C and throughout the drying time. Recommended temperature for application: +18 °C to +23 °C
Diluent: Water.
Cleaning tools: With water, dried paint can be removed with organic solvents.
