LAZUROL thixotropic non-dripping varnish for metal and wood S1091, colorless gloss, 750 ml

This varnish is used to create transparent coatings on wood or metal, especially on sloped and vertical surfaces.

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

The varnish is used for making a transparent coating on wood or metal primarily on vertical or sloped surfaces, such as wall cladding, ceiling eaves, etc. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. In its resting state, the varnish forms a dense, almost solid gel, which gets disrupted when mixed or applied, making the coating material easy to spread. After painting or mixing, it returns to a gel state. Therefore, it does not drip from the brush or vertical surfaces. It is applied exclusively with a brush. The varnish is available in both gloss and matte variants.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

Before application, the wooden substrate must be dry, clean, well-sanded, free of resin residues, and with a moisture content of no more than 12%. For wood species with a higher resin content (e.g., pine or larch), all resin exudates must be removed, for example by washing with nitro thinner C 6000. The level of wood preparation directly affects the final appearance of the surface and the overall durability of the whole coating system. First, apply a suitable primer that will equalize the substrate's absorbency and enhance the material's protection (when choosing a fungicidal primer, it also ensures protection against attack by fungi, mold, and insects). Then gently sand the substrate with sandpaper before applying the synthetic varnish.

The metal substrate must be dry, clean, degreased, free of dust and corrosion, and mechanically cleaned before application.

In case of renovations, remove all non-adherent original coatings from the wood and ensure sufficient substrate strength (if you completely remove the original coat, apply a new coat step by step, including impregnating the wood). It is recommended to follow the comprehensive coating system specified in the manufacturer's data sheet.

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)

Theoretical yield: 8-12 m²/l for one coat

WORKING PROCEDURE:

The undiluted varnish is applied with a brush after thorough mixing onto the pre-prepared substrate.
1.  1x impregnation with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 (interior) or fungicidal primer LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033 (exterior), application 100-150 g/m2, drying time 24 hours. After drying, lightly sand with sandpaper no. 100.
2.  1x coat of varnish LAZUROL THIXOTROPIC VARNISH S 1091 at an optimal dry film thickness of 35 - 40µm, drying time 24 hours. After drying, lightly sand with sandpaper no. 220.
3. 1x coat of varnish LAZUROL THIXOTROPIC VARNISH S1091, optimal dry film thickness of 35 - 40µm, drying time 24 hours.
