Lazurol S1020 Walkable Wood Lacquer Semi-Matt, Clear, 750 ml

Wood Lacquer synthetic urethanized intended for top semi-matt transparent coatings of wood.

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

The lacquer is intended for coatings on wood, such as parquet, wooden floors, wall cladding, stairs, doors, railings, decorative strips. The lacquer creates a protective layer with an attractive appearance that protects against weather influences and damage to the coated surface. It exhibits good sandability, high UV resistance, and repels water. The lacquer has a slip resistance certification.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a maximum moisture content of 12%, free of resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be pre-treated to remove all resin exudates, for example, by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood finish and the overall longevity of the coating system.

The surface of the wood must first be impregnated with a suitable impregnating agent that ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate and higher wood protection (when using a fungicidal impregnating agent, also protection against mold, fungi, and insects). The surface of the wood must then be sanded with fine sandpaper, and only then should the synthetic wood lacquer be applied. In renovation applications, the wood must be stripped of old non-adhering coatings and ensure good substrate adhesion (when completely removing old paint, the new coating should be done gradually, including wood impregnation). It is recommended to follow the entire coating system according to the manufacturer's data sheet.

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (for cleaning tools). The lacquer does not need to be diluted, it is already in application viscosity.

Theoretical coverage: 10 - 12 m²/ l for one layer depending on the absorbency of the substrate

WORKING PROCEDURE:

Apply after thorough mixing on the pre-prepared substrate. Wood Lacquer does not need to be diluted, it is already in application viscosity.

Interior coating:

Before coating, impregnate the wood with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 clear. After about 20 minutes, gently wipe with a dry brush, after drying for 24h, lightly sand the coating and then apply the LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKABLE LAK S1020 lacquer 2 – 3 times at an interval of 16 to 24h for one layer.

Outdoor coating:

Before coating, treat the wood against mold, fungi, and wood-destroying insects with the fungicidal impregnating agent LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. After 20 minutes, wipe away excess impregnating agent with a dry brush, after drying for 24h lightly sand, and then apply LAZUROL S1020 lacquer over the wood 3 times at an interval of 16 – 24h for 1 layer. The number of layers and the different structure of the wood affect the final color shade.

For new floors, it is recommended to apply at least 3 top layers. A higher thickness of the resulting layer improves the overall quality and durability of the coating. The optimal thickness of one layer of paint is 25 to 30 mm. The coating must be protected from rough handling and intensive washing with water for the first 14 days. The type, surface, and any previous coating of the wood affect the final shade of the coating. Natural wood changes color due to light independently of the lacquer. For exotic types of wood, it is advisable to test the lacquer first on a small area due to its effect on the resulting shade of wood.

You may find it useful to have covering material, such as paper tape or covering foil, or sanding papers. Don't forget about brushes and rollers.
