Oil-based impregnator on a traditional natural basis, designed primarily for the initial impregnation of wood, excellent penetration properties.
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE OF THE PRODUCT:
It is mainly used for the initial impregnation of wood, plaster, and other absorbent substrates, under additional coatings with oil-based, synthetic, or dispersion paints. It ensures perfect adhesion of the top coats, thus protecting the substrate from unfavorable weather conditions.
Key properties:
• excellent penetration of wood
• suitable for other absorbent substrates (masonry, paper)
• traditional natural coating
PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE:
Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, and free of resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be completely cleaned of any resin exudates, for example by washing with nitro thinner BALTECH C6000. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final
surface finish of the wood and also the overall lifespan of the coating system. Mineral substrates must be matured for at least 28 days prior to application, must be dry and free of dust, must not be contaminated with grease, oil products, and must be isolated from ground moisture.
DILUENT: BALTECH S6006
Theoretical yield: ca 7 m²/ l for one coat depending on substrate absorbency
WORK PROCEDURE:
Before use, thoroughly mix the content and dilute if necessary. It is applied with a brush, roller, or by immersion on a pre-prepared substrate.
Wood color coating:
- 1× coat with UNIBAL IMPREGNATING OIL O1000. After ca 20 minutes, it is necessary to wipe off the excess oil so that no glossy coating remains on the surface
- after 48 h of drying, sand the surface with sandpaper
- 1 to 2× coat with UNIBAL BASE COLOUR O2025
- 1 to 2× coat with top enamel INDUSTROL UNIVERSAL S2013 or LAZUROL WINDOW EMAIL U2015
