Oil-based impregnating agent based on linseed oil, intended primarily for the initial impregnation of wood, with excellent penetrating properties.
PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
It is mainly used for the initial impregnation of wood, plasters, and other porous substrates, under subsequent layers of oil-based, synthetic or dispersion coating materials. It ensures perfect adhesion of top coats, thereby protecting the substrate from adverse weather effects.
Key properties:
• excellent wood penetration
• suitable for other absorbent substrates (masonry, paper)
• traditional oil coating
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded before application, with a moisture content of max. 12%, free from resin residues. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be pre-treated to remove all resin exudates, for example by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final
wood surface treatment and also the overall lifespan of the coating system. Mineral substrates must be matured for a minimum of 28 days before application, they must be dry and free from dust, must not be contaminated with grease, petroleum products, and must be isolated from ground moisture.
DILUENT: BALTECH S6006
Theoretical coverage: ca 7 m²/ l for one coat depending on substrate absorbency
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Before use, thoroughly mix the contents and, if necessary, dilute. Apply with a brush, roller, or by dipping onto the pre-prepared substrate.
Color coating of wood:
- 1× coat with UNIBAL IMPREGNATING OIL O1000. After approx. 20 minutes, it is necessary to wipe off the excess oil so that there is no shiny coating left on the surface
- After 48 hours of drying, sand the surface with sandpaper
- 1 to 2× coat with the primer UNIBAL OIL PAINT O2025
- 1 to 2× coat with the top coat INDUSTROL UNIVERSAL S2013 or LAZUROL WINDOW EMAIL U2015
