Pattex FIX Super is a mounting adhesive for bonding porous materials for indoor use. It bonds lightweight and absorbent materials, such as decorative panels, polystyrene elements, wooden boards, and frames, etc.
Areas of application:
Wood, metal, concrete, plasterboard, plywood, MDF, polystyrene, PVC-U, plastics, bricks, stone.
Trick with a toothpick:
To prevent excessive spreading of the adhesive on the surface when pressing the bonded object, try placing toothpicks into the strip of adhesive at several points. When subsequently pressing the object, the toothpicks will maintain the proper distance from the surface and prevent the adhesive from being squeezed out from the side of the joint.
Storage:
Store in the original closed packaging in a dry and cool environment. Protect from direct sunlight and frost.
Surface preparation:
The surface must be clean and free of dust, grease, and oil. The surface must not be constantly exposed to moisture. One of the bonded surfaces must be absorbent, as water must evaporate from the joint to achieve a strong bond. In the case of very absorbent surfaces, such as plaster, MDF, particleboard (not OSB), or clay bricks, the adhesive may dry too quickly around the edge of the application, and the inner part of the joint may not create a sufficient bond. To ensure the desired connection with rapidly absorbing surfaces, moisten the surface with water from a spray bottle or a damp cloth before gluing. For non-absorbent surfaces or those sensitive to moisture, use Pattex FIX Total (PL700) or Pattex FIX Extreme Total.
