Fragrant dill is an undemanding annual herb, grown for its foliage or as a spice. For harvesting fresh foliage, successive sowing is suitable. Spacing: 20 - 25 cm rows or sown widely.
The consumable part is the leaf, which is cut along with the whole young plant that is 15 - 20 cm high at the base. The harvested foliage can be well dried in the shade, and during artificial drying, temperatures must not exceed 35° C. For pickling vegetables, such as cucumbers, the plants are collected when in bloom. Growing season is 65 - 75 days, from 100 m2 one can harvest 100 - 140 kg of green mass. It has a favorable ratio of leaves to the total mass of the plant.
