Soudal wood putty, white, 250 g

Soudal wood putty is used for leveling surfaces made of wood, particle board, cement board, and other absorbent substrates, for spot repairs and filling cracks, holes, or irregularities, for unifying the joints of strips and boards, and for preparing surfaces before applying paint. The wood putty adheres very well to wooden and other absorbent substrates, does not change volume after drying and can be easily sanded. For outdoor use, a protective coating is required. It features a paste-like consistency for easy application. It can be diluted and washed off with water. It is suitable for leveling wooden materials, local repairs, and filling grooves, holes, and cracks, for sealing joints of strips and boards made of wood, and for smoothing the surfaces before painting.

Surface application in one layer: 0.2 - 0.4 m²/100g.

Drying speed:

Depending on the thickness of the applied layer, at least 2 hours. A 0.4 mm layer takes approximately 6 hours, a 0.7 mm layer about 7 hours, a 1.5 mm layer around 9 hours, and a 2 mm layer approximately 10 hours (at 20 °C and 65% relative humidity).

Surfaces:

Suitable substrates: all common materials made of wood and composite or laminated wooden boards. Substrate conditions: free from dirt, grease, and dust particles. Preparation before application: crumbly and non-cohesive layers should be consolidated, for example, with an acrylic-based primer, and loose parts should be removed; no other preparation is needed.

Work procedure:

Application: A metal spatula or large flat trowel is most commonly used for application. Fill holes and cracks ensuring there are no air bubbles. Level the area with a trowel, and after hardening, sand it flat. Local repairs should be filled with a slight overlap above the height of the surrounding surface, and after drying, sand to a flat finish. The repaired areas are usually painted with a cover paint or glazing lacquer.
