Basic and top anti-corrosive synthetic coating with high solids content designed for the surface treatment of metallic materials and for their effective protection against corrosion. The coating has a high barrier effect, making it suitable for use in demanding climatic conditions. It prevents the formation of corrosion and reliably protects against all weather influences including UV radiation. The coating is tough, flexible, and water-resistant. For long-term protection (up to 10 years), 2 layers of Superfest are sufficient without a previous primer.
Application of the metal paint:
Basic and top coatings for sheet metal roofs, steel structures, gutters, fences, and all metallic objects in the exterior. Due to the high content of effective solid particles, this coating is ideal for use in demanding climatic conditions. We recommend painting fresh galvanized sheets after 1 year of exposure to weather influences or after prior surface treatment with an appropriate agent. We suggest mechanically cleaning and treating any corroded substrate.
Consumption:
1 kg per 6 – 8 m² in one layer
Thinner:
S 6006, spraying S 6001
Yield:
Theoretical yield for one layer is 6 – 8 m²/1 kg of coating material at a typical film thickness of 50 – 75 μm (corresponding to wet thickness of 100 – 130 μm). Actual yield depends on the quality of the substrate and the method of application. Maximum lifespan of 10 years can be achieved with proper application and a thickness of 150 μm of dry coating.
Preparation of the substrate and method of application:
The surfaces to be painted must be dry, degreased, and free of dirt, rust, and old non-adhering coatings. Pay extraordinary attention to proper mixing, especially before the first use. The high content of solid particles can cause gloss differences if not mixed adequately. If necessary, the coating can be slightly diluted (max. 5%) to the required consistency. The coating is applied with a brush, roller, or by spraying in at least two layers at temperatures of +5 to +25 °C. Do not work in direct strong sunlight! The interval between individual layers is at least 24 hours. The coating dries to the touch in 4 hours, hardens in 48 hours. When painting larger continuous areas, we recommend using products from the same production batch, or mixing the contents of individual packages to achieve color homogeneity. For colored and light metals or surfaces that are difficult to clean (e.g., with remnants of corrosion), we recommend treating with anchoring polyurethane product FEST PRIMER beforehand. This will increase the quality and durability of the entire coating system.
