Alkyton glossy is a high-quality alkyd paint with excellent resistance, flexibility, abrasion resistance, and quick drying time (even at temperatures down to +5 °C). The main advantage, however, is its high anti-corrosive capacity and the ability to apply it even on already rusted and heavily rusted metal. ALKYTON glossy covers in one coat in all shades. Effective anti-corrosive pigments create long-lasting anti-corrosive protection. The product has very good adhesion even on corroded surfaces after manual cleaning. The solvents used give the product excellent flow- when applied with a brush, it can achieve a finish of similar quality as when spraying. The modification of alkyd resins with urethane gives the product long-term color stability and significantly extends gloss.

Recommended use:
ALKYTON is primarily intended for painting new and corroded iron metals in outdoor environments. ALKYTON can be applied directly onto metal in areas with mild industrial contamination, or using it in a system with RUST-OLEUM primers on metallic structures exposed to more aggressive industrial environments. An increase in anti-corrosive protection can be achieved in a system with a fast-drying anti-corrosive primer PRIMER +. Where the surface cannot be well cleaned, use the anti-corrosive primer PENETRATOR. New and oxidized galvanized sheet metal, stainless steel, light metals, and titan zinc require pre-treatment with the primer GALVINOL. Due to its extreme flexibility and resistance to external influences, ALKYTON can also be applied to seasoned wood treated with a primer in outdoor environments. ALKYTON can also be used for painting concrete. However, it is not intended for painting concrete floors. ALKYTON is not certified for painting children's toys or for contact with food. ALKYTON is not intended for permanent immersion.

Application:
ALKYTON can be applied with a brush, roller, or by spraying.

Drying:

• Drying at 20 °C and 50% humidity

• to touch - 4 hours
• repaintable - 16 hours
• fully cured - 7 days

Diluent:
max 10% Synthetic thinner S6005

Theoretical coverage:
10.5 m² /l at 50µm dry film, depending on shade.

Surface preparation:
Remove oil, grease, and any other surface contamination with the alkaline cleaner RO ND 14 or pressure (steam) cleaning in combination with appropriate detergents. Remove scale, loose rust, and poorly adhering residues of old paints with a scraper and steel brush to degree St 2/3 (ISO 8501-1: 1988) or abrasive blast to degree Sa 2 1/2. Old, well-adhered coatings should be abraded to ensure good adhesion and compatibility with RUST-OLEUM coatings should be verified. The surface must be dry and clean before and during application.

Instructions for use:
Mix the paint thoroughly before use. If possible, do not dilute /dilution may be necessary if the application is performed at low temperatures/. High dilution reduces the solid content and thus the thickness of the coating film. Dilution may affect drying times. In environments C1 –C2, it is usually applied on a suitable base in one coat. In environments C3-C4, it is usually necessary to apply 2 coats of primer and one coat of Alkyton in the case of steel, and 2 coats of Alkyton in the case of galvanized surfaces.
