Alkyton gloss is a high-quality alkyd paint with excellent resistance, flexibility, abrasion resistance, and quick drying (even at temperatures down to +5 °C). The main advantage, however, is its high anti-corrosive ability and the possibility of painting even on already rusted and heavily rusted metal. ALKYTON gloss covers in 1 layer in all shades. Effective anti-corrosive pigments create long-lasting anti-corrosive protection. The product has very good adhesion even on corroded surfaces after manual cleaning. The solvents used give the product excellent flowability - when applied with a brush, a quality appearance similar to spraying can be achieved. Modifications of alkyd resins with urethanes provide the product with long-lasting color stability and significantly extend gloss.

Recommended use:
ALKYTON is primarily intended for painting new and corroded iron metals outdoors. ALKYTON can be applied directly to metal in environments with mild industrial pollution, or using a system with RUST-OLEUM primers on metal structures exposed to more aggressive industrial environments. Increased anti-corrosive protection can be achieved in a system with the fast-drying anti-corrosive primer PRIMER +. Where the surface cannot be well cleaned, use the anti-corrosive primer PENETRATOR. New and oxidized galvanized sheet metal, inox, light metals, and titanium zinc require pre-treatment with the GALVINOL primer. Due to its extreme flexibility and resistance to external influences, ALKYTON can also be applied to mature wood treated with a primer outdoors. ALKYTON can also be used for painting concrete. However, it is not intended for painting concrete floors. ALKYTON is not certified for painting children's toys and for contact with food. ALKYTON is not intended for permanent immersion.

Application:
ALKYTON can be applied with a brush, roller, or spray.

Drying:

• Drying at 20 °C and 50% humidity
• to touch - 2 hours
• to the touch - 4 hours
• repaintable - 16 hours
• fully cured - 7 days

Thinner:
max 10% Synthetic thinner S6005

Theoretical coverage:
10.5 m² /l at 50µm dry film, depending on the shade.

Surface preparation:
Remove oil, grease, and any other surface contamination with the alkaline cleaner RO ND 14 or pressure (steam) cleaning combined with suitable detergents. Remove scale, loose rust, and poorly adhering residues of old paints with a scraper and a steel brush to grade St 2/3 (ISO 8501-1: 1988) or blast to grade Sa 2 1/2. Old, well-adhered coatings should be roughened to ensure good adhesion and check compatibility with RUST-OLEUM coatings. The surface must be dry and clean before and during application.

Instructions for use:
Mix the paint thoroughly before use. If possible, do not dilute / dilution may be necessary if applying at low temperatures/. High dilution reduces the solids content and thus the thickness of the paint film. Dilution may affect drying times. In environments C1 –C2, it is typically applied on a suitable primer in one coat. In environments C3-C4, it is usually necessary to apply 2 coats of primer and one coat of Alkyton in the case of steel and 2 coats of Alkyton in the case of galvanized surfaces.
