Dupli-Color Alkyton Gloss, self-priming rust paint, Ral 9005 black, 250 ml

Alkyton gloss is a high-quality alkyd paint with excellent durability, flexibility, abrasion resistance, and fast drying (even at temperatures as low as +5 °C). Its main advantage, however, is its high anti-corrosive ability and the ability to paint over already rusted and heavily rusted metal. ALKYTON gloss covers in one coat in all shades. Effective anti-corrosive pigments create long-lasting anti-corrosive protection. The product has very good adhesion even on corroded surfaces after manual cleaning. The solvents used give the product excellent workability - when applied with a brush, a finish of similar quality to spraying can be achieved. The modification of alkyd resins with urethanes gives the product long-term color retention and significantly extends gloss.

Recommended use:
ALKYTON is primarily intended for coatings of new and corroded iron metals in exteriors. ALKYTON can be applied directly to metal in environments with mild industrial pollution, or using a system with primer RUST-OLEUM for metal structures exposed to more aggressive industrial environments. Increased anti-corrosive protection can be achieved in systems with a quick-drying anti-corrosive primer PRIMER +. Where the surface cannot be well cleaned, use anti-corrosive primer PENETRATOR. New and oxidized galvanized sheets, inox, light metals, and titanium-zinc require pre-treatment with primer GALVINOL. Due to its extreme flexibility and resistance to external influences, ALKYTON can also be applied to mature, primer-treated wood in exteriors. ALKYTON can also be used for coating concrete. However, it is not intended for concrete floor coatings. ALKYTON is not certified for coatings of children's toys and for contact with food. ALKYTON is not intended for permanent immersion.

Application:
ALKYTON can be applied with a brush, roller, or by spraying.

Drying:

• Drying at 20 °C and 50% humidity

Thinner:
max 10% Synthetic thinner S6005

Theoretical yield:
10.5 m²/l at 50µm dry film, depending on the shade.

Surface preparation:
Remove oil, grease, and any other surface contamination with the alkaline cleaner RO ND 14 or pressure (steam) cleaning in combination with appropriate detergents. Remove scale, loose rust, and poorly adhering remnants of old paints with a scraper and steel brush to St 2/3 (ISO 8501-1: 1988) or blast to Sa 2½. Roughen old, well-adhered coatings to ensure good adhesion and check compatibility with RUST-OLEUM coatings. The surface must be dry and clean before and during application.

Instructions for use:
Thoroughly mix the paint before use. If possible, do not dilute / dilution may be necessary if you are applying at low temperatures/. High dilution reduces the solid content and thus also the thickness of the coating. Dilution may affect drying times. In C1 –C2 environments, it is usually applied on a suitable primer in one coat. In C3-C4 environments, it is usually necessary to apply 2 coats of primer and one coat of Alkyton for steel and 2 coats of Alkyton for galvanized surfaces.
