Glossy Alkyton is a high-quality alkyd paint with excellent durability, flexibility, abrasion resistance, and quick drying (even at temperatures down to +5 °C). However, its main advantage is its high anti-corrosion capability and the ability to paint over rusted and heavily rusted metal. ALKYTON glossy covers in one layer in all shades. Effective anti-corrosive pigments provide long-lasting anti-corrosive protection. The product has very good adhesion even to corroded surfaces after manual cleaning. The solvents used provide the product with excellent flow properties - when applied with a brush, a finish similar in quality to spraying can be achieved. The modification of alkyd resins with urethanes gives the product long-lasting color stability and significantly prolongs gloss.

Recommended use:
ALKYTON is primarily intended for coating new and corroded iron metals in exteriors. ALKYTON can be applied directly to metal in environments with mild industrial pollution or used in systems with RUST-OLEUM primers for metal structures exposed to more aggressive industrial environments. Increased anti-corrosion protection can be achieved in a system with the fast-drying anti-corrosion primer PRIMER +. Where the surface cannot be cleaned well, use the anti-corrosive primer PENETRATOR. New and oxidized galvanized sheet metal, inox, light metals, and titanium zinc require pre-treatment with the GALVINOL primer. Due to its extreme flexibility and resistance to external influences, ALKYTON can also be applied to mature wood treated with primer in exteriors. ALKYTON can also be used for coatings on concrete. However, it is not intended for coating concrete floors. ALKYTON is not certified for coatings of children's toys or for food contact. ALKYTON is not intended for permanent immersion.

Application:
ALKYTON can be applied with a brush, roller, or spraying.

Drying:

• Drying at 20 °C and 50% humidity
• to touch - 2 hours
• to the touch - 4 hours
• repaintable - 16 hours
• fully cured - 7 days

Thinner:
max 10% Synthetic thinner S6005

Theoretical coverage:
10.5 m² /l at 50µm dry film, depending on the shade.

Surface preparation:
Remove oil, grease, and any other surface contamination with the alkaline cleaner RO ND 14 or by high-pressure (steam) cleaning in combination with suitable detergents. Remove scale, loose rust, and poorly adhering residues of old paints with a scraper and steel brush to grade St 2/3 (ISO 8501-1: 1988) or blast to grade Sa 2 1/2. Old, well-adhered coatings should be roughened to ensure good adhesion, and compatibility with RUST-OLEUM coatings should be verified. The surface must be dry and clean before and during application.

Instructions for use:
Mix the paint thoroughly before use. If possible, do not dilute / dilution may be necessary if you are applying at low temperatures/. High dilution reduces the solids content and thus the thickness of the coating film. Dilution can affect drying times. In environment C1 – C2, it is usually applied to a suitable base in one coat. In environment C3-C4, it is usually necessary to apply 2 coats of primer and one coat of Alkyton for steel and 2 coats of Alkyton for galvanized surfaces.
