BARLET acrylic Plus base A is a modern acrylic facade paint designed for tinting at our stores, the white base A is used as a white facade paint. With low consumption, it provides excellent coverage, covers micro-cracks and is very suitable for the renovation of thermal insulation systems. It is used for painting lime-cement plasters, concrete, aerated concrete, chipboard and renovation plasters in interiors and exteriors.

It is used for painting insulated facades, lime-cement plasters, concrete, aerated concrete, chipboard and similar surfaces. The paint is resistant to selected disinfectants (can be used for painting repeatedly disinfected interiors in hospitals). Resistance to liquid action according to ČSN EN ISO 2812-1:2013, Method 1. It exhibits wash resistance according to ČSN EN ISO 11998 class 2 (classification according to EN
13300). The paint is easy to process, non-toxic and environmentally friendly.

Method of applying facade paint:

Brush, roller, AIRLESS spraying such as STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700 or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 recommended pressure from 100 – 130 bar, nozzle size 517 or 519, filter in the gun 50 mesh. When applying by spraying, we recommend always conducting tests on the specific equipment beforehand

Example of an acrylic facade paint application

The substrate must be dry and mature. Too absorbent, powdering or non-cohesive substrates should be treated with a suitable acrylic primer such as REMAL, BARLET or SOICRAT. Dilute the paint with a maximum of 5 - 10 % water and mix thoroughly. Apply the paint after the primer has dried in two coats using a brush or roller. The paint can also be applied by pressure spraying. Additional layers should be applied only after complete drying. The optimal temperature for painting is 15 to 25 °C. For cohesive surfaces, use product from the same batch, mix different batches together before use.

Handling of facade paint:

When working, follow basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for paints coming into direct contact with food, feed and drinking water. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical advice. The product is treated with a biocide. Contains 2-octyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one, reaction mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-on [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-on [ES number 220 -239-6] (3:1), 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-on.

Shelf life of acrylic facade paint:

The product retains its utility properties for 5 years from the date of manufacture, in the original unopened packaging. Store in a dry place at a temperature of 5 to 25 °C.

Disposal of the packaging and waste of acrylic facade paint:

Dispose of containers with product residues at a place designated by the municipality for the collection of other waste. See also section 13 of the product safety data sheet.

Washability of the paint in practice is addressed by the standard WASH RESISTANCE ČSN EN ISO 11998

This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining wash resistance and washability of paint. Regarding the cleanability of the coatings, it only specifies the testing method itself but does not specify the contaminants. After drying and conditioning, the painted sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in a testing abrasion (cleaning) device. The reduction in weight is used to calculate the average value of the loss of paint thickness. To determine cleanability, contaminants are applied to equally prepared samples. The specified contaminants are left in contact with the paint film for the prescribed time. The painted, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminant was removed and whether the coating is resistant to wash abrasion.

For assessment, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the best - class 5 is the worst. Grading is similar to that in school.
