BARLET acrylic Plus base A is a modern acrylic facade paint designed for tinting at our stores, the white base A is used as a white facade paint. With low consumption, it provides excellent coverage, covers micro-cracks and is very suitable for the renovation of insulation systems. It is used for painting lime-cement plasters, concretes, aerated concrete, particleboards, and renovation plasters in interiors and exteriors.

It is used for painting insulated facades, lime-cement plasters, concretes, aerated concrete, particleboards, and similar surfaces. The paint is resistant to selected disinfectants (can be used for coatings in repeatedly disinfected interiors of hospitals). Resistance to liquids according to ČSN EN ISO 2812-1:2013, Method 1. It exhibits resistance to wet abrasion according to ČSN EN ISO 11998 class 2 (classification according to EN
13300). The paint is easy to process, health-safe, and environmentally friendly.

Method of applying facade paint:

Brush, roller, airless spraying, e.g. STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700 or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 with a recommended pressure of 100 – 130 bar, nozzle size 517 or possibly 519, gun filter 50 mesh. When spraying, it is advisable to conduct preliminary tests on the specific equipment

Example of acrylic facade paint application

The substrate must be dry and matured. Treat overly absorbent, crumbly, or non-adherent substrates with a suitable acrylic primer REMAL, BARLET, or SOICRAT. Dilute the paint by a maximum of 5 - 10 % water and mix thoroughly. Apply the paint in two layers with a brush or roller after the primer has dried. The paint can also be applied by pressure spraying. Additional layers can be applied only after complete drying. The optimal temperature for painting is 15 to 25 °C. For unified areas, use the product from one batch; mix different batches together before use.

Handling facade paint:

When working, adhere to basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings coming into direct contact with food, feed, and drinking water. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical attention. The product is treated with a biocide. Contains 2-octyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one, reactive mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazolin-3(2H)-one [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazolin-3(2H)-one [ES number 220 -239-6] (3:1), 2-methylisothiazolin-3(2H)-one.

Storage stability of acrylic facade paint:

The product retains its usable properties for 5 years from the date of manufacture, in the original unopened packaging. Store in a dry place at a temperature of 5 to 25 °C.

Disposal of containers and wastes of acrylic facade paint:

Dispose of containers with product residues at the place designated by the municipality for the collection of other waste. Furthermore, see section 13 of the product safety data sheet.

Washability of the paint in practice is addressed by the standard WET ABRASION RESISTANCE ČSN EN ISO 11998

This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining wet abrasion resistance and cleanability of the paint. Regarding the cleanability of coatings, it only specifies the testing method itself but does not specify the contaminating substances. After drying and conditioning, the painted sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in a test abrasion (cleaning) device. From the weight loss, the average value of the coating thickness loss is calculated. For determining cleanability, contaminating substances are applied to equally prepared samples. The specified contaminating substances are left in contact with the coating film for the prescribed time. Painted, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminating substance has been removed and the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.

A classification of 5 classes is used for evaluation - class 1 is the best - class 5 is the worst. Grading is like in school.
