BARLET silicone facade paint white for coatings on lime-cement plasters, concretes, aerated concrete, wood, wood fiber and particle boards, etc. substrates in interiors and exteriors. The substrate must be solid, dry, mature, and free of biological attack (mold, algae). New plasters must mature for at least 4 weeks (carbonatize).

Method of application of facade paint:

Brush, roller, spray AIRLESS, e.g., STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700, or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 recommended pressure from 100 – 130 bar, nozzle size 517 or possibly 519, filter for the gun 50 mesh. When applying by spraying, it is always recommended to conduct tests on the specific equipment beforehand.

Example of coating acrylic facade paint

The substrate must be dry and mature. Too absorbent, crumbling, or non-cohesive substrates should be treated with a suitable acrylic primer REMAL, BARLET or SOICRAT. Dilute the paint with a maximum of 5 - 10% water and mix thoroughly. Apply the paint after the primer has dried in two layers with a brush or roller. The paint can also be applied by pressure spraying. Subsequent layers should be applied only after complete drying. The optimal temperature for painting is 15 to 25 °C. Use a product from the same batch for continuous areas, mix different batches together before use.

Preparation of the substrate:

General conditions that must be met before painting with facade paint:

• plaster repairs in outdoor environments are not suitable,
• old non-cohesive coatings must be removed with a wire brush, scraper, or high-pressure water,
• older substrates must be assessed, non-compliant ones removed and repaired with a new lime-cement plaster,
• new lime-cement plasters must be left to mature for at least one month,
• the paint coat is thin - it follows the substrate; therefore, it is recommended to sweep or rub off grains of sand from the surface after new plaster has dried to prevent the formation of shadows on unevenly smoothed painted plaster,
• the temperature of the substrate and the environment during work is recommended to be in the range of +15°C to +25°C. It must not be lower than +7 °C and must not exceed +30 °C.
• painting cannot be done in rain, strong wind, and under strong sunlight,
• windows, metal parts, and gutters must be covered, dried paint residues are difficult to remove,
• substrates must be dry and mature before starting painting, moisture of the plaster should be checked with a suitable moisture meter before painting.
• for painting larger areas, it is recommended to use products from the same batch, or possibly mix different batches, especially concerning color shades.
• for some intense shades, there is reduced coverage. It is recommended to undercoat with a thicker base. This generally applies to yellow, orange, and red shades prepared mainly from organic pigments.
• the combination of different application techniques (roller + brush) must be tested beforehand, especially with intense shades, due to the risk of differing color due to the different surface of the paint.

Handling the facade paint:

When working, observe basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, feed, and drinking water. Keep out of reach of children. If you do not feel well, seek medical help. The product is treated with a biocide. Contains 2-octyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one, reaction mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EC number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EC number 220-239-
6] (3:1). May cause an allergic reaction.

Storage stability of acrylic facade paint:

The product retains its utility properties for 5 years from the date of manufacture, in the original unopened packaging. Store in a dry place at a temperature of 5 to 25 °C.

Disposal of containers and waste of acrylic facade paint:

Dispose of containers with product residues at a location designated by the municipality for collecting other waste. See also section 13 of the product safety data sheet.
