BARLET silicone facade paint white for painting lime-cement plasters, concretes, aerated concretes, wood, wood-fiber and chipboard panels, etc. substrates in interiors and exteriors. The substrate must be solid, dry, mature, and free from biological attacks (molds, algae). New plasters must mature for at least 4 weeks (carbonation).

Method of applying facade paint:

Brush, roller, AIRLESS spraying e.g. STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700 or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 recommended pressure from 100 – 130 bar, nozzle size 517 or 519, filter for the gun 50 mesh. When spraying, we recommend always conducting tests on the specific equipment beforehand.

Example of coating acrylic facade paint

The substrate must be dry and matured. Overly absorbent, crumbling, or non-cohesive substrates should be treated with suitable acrylic primer REMAL, BARLET or SOICRAT. Dilute the paint by a maximum of 5 - 10 % water and mix thoroughly. Apply the paint after the primer has dried in two layers with a brush or roller. Paint can also be sprayed. Additional layers should be applied only after complete drying. The optimal temperature for painting is 15 to 25 °C. For larger areas, use a product from the same batch, mix different batches together before use.

Preparation of the substrate:

General conditions that must be followed before painting with facade paint:

• plaster repairs in outdoor environments are not suitable,
• old non-cohesive paints must be removed with a wire brush, scraper, or high-pressure water,
• older substrates must be assessed, unsatisfactory ones removed and repaired with new lime-cement plaster,
• new lime-cement plasters must be allowed to mature for at least one month,
• the facade paint is thin-layered - it copies the substrate, therefore we recommend sweeping or rubbing off sand grains from the surface after drying of new plasters, this prevents the formation of shadows on unevenly smoothed plaster,
• the temperature of the substrate and environment during work is recommended in the range of +15°C to +25°C. It must not be lower than +7 °C and must not exceed +30 °C.
• painting cannot be done in rain, strong wind, and under strong sunlight,
• windows, metal parts, and gutters must be covered, dried paint residues are difficult to remove,
• substances must be dry and mature before starting painting, we recommend checking the moisture of the plaster with a suitable moisture meter before starting painting.
• for painting larger areas, we recommend using products from the same batch, or mix individual batches together, especially regarding color shades.
• some saturated shades have reduced opacity. We recommend priming with a more opaque base. This generally applies to yellow, orange, and red shades prepared mainly from organic pigments.
• the combination of different application techniques (roller + brush) must be tested, especially with saturated shades, beforehand - danger of differing color due to the different surfaces of the paint.

Handling of facade paint:

When working, observe basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for application to surfaces coming into direct contact with food, feed, and drinking water. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical attention. The product is treated with a biocide. It contains 2-octyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one, reaction mixture: 5-chloro-2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one [ES number 220-239-6] (3:1). It may cause an allergic reaction.

Storage stability of acrylic facade paint:

The product retains its useful properties for 5 years from the date of manufacture in its original unopened packaging. Store in a dry place at a temperature of 5 to 25 °C.

Disposal of packaging and waste of acrylic facade paint:

Dispose of containers with residues of the product at the location designated by the municipality for the collection of other waste. See also section 13 of the product safety data sheet.
