BARLET acrylic Plus base A is a modern acrylic façade paint intended for tinting at our stores, the white base A is used as a white façade paint. With low consumption, it covers excellently, conceals micro-cracks, and is very suitable for the renovation of insulation systems. It is used for painting lime-cement plasters, concrete, aerated concrete, particle board, and renovation plasters in interiors and exteriors.

It is used for painting insulated façades, lime-cement plasters, concrete, aerated concrete, particle board, and similar surfaces. The paint is resistant to selected disinfectants (can be used for painting interiors that are repeatedly disinfected in hospitals). Resistance to liquid impact according to ČSN EN ISO 2812-1:2013, Method 1. It shows resistance to wet abrasion according to ČSN EN ISO 11998 class 2 (classification according to EN
13300). The paint is easy to process, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly.

Application method for façade paint:

Brush, roller, AIRLESS spraying, e.g., STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700, or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 recommended pressure from 100 – 130 bar, nozzle size 517 or 519, filter in the gun 50 mesh. When spraying, we recommend always conducting tests on specific equipment beforehand

Example of painting with acrylic façade paint

The substrate must be dry and seasoned. Overly absorbent, powdery or unbonded substrates should be treated with appropriate acrylic primer REMAL, BARLET, or SOICRAT. Dilute the paint with a maximum of 5 - 10 % water and mix thoroughly. Apply the paint after the primer has dried in two coats with a brush or roller. The paint can also be applied using pressure spraying. Additional coats should be applied only after complete drying. The optimal temperature for painting is 15 to 25 °C. Use products from the same batch for continuous areas, mix different batches together before use.

Handling of façade paint:

Observe basic hygiene rules while working. The product is not intended for use in coatings that come into direct contact with food, feed, and drinking water. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical attention. The product is treated with a biocide. It contains 2-octyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one, reaction mixture: 5-chloro-2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one [ES number 220 -239-6] (3:1), 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one.

Shelf life of acrylic façade paint:

The product retains its useful properties for 5 years from the date of manufacture, in its original unopened container. Store in a dry place at a temperature of 5 to 25 °C.

Disposal of packaging and waste from acrylic façade paint:

Dispose of containers with leftover product at a location designated by the municipality for collecting other waste. For more information, see section 13 of the safety data sheet for the product.

Washability of paint is practically addressed by the standard WET ABRASION RESISTANCE ČSN EN ISO 11998

This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining wet abrasion resistance and washability of paint. Regarding the cleanliness of coatings, it only specifies the test method itself, but does not specify pollutants. After drying and conditioning, the painted sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in a testing abrasion (cleaning) device. The weight loss is used to calculate the average value of coating thickness loss. To determine cleanliness, pollutants are applied to similarly prepared samples. Specified pollutants are left in contact with the coating film for the prescribed time. Painted, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the pollutant has been removed and whether the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.

For assessment, 5 classes are used - class 1 is best - class 5 is worst. Grading is like in school.
