BARLET acrylic Plus base A is a modern acrylic façade paint designed for tinting at our stores, the white base A is used as a white façade paint. With low consumption, it provides excellent coverage, covers micro-cracks, and is very suitable for the renovation of insulation systems. It is used for painting lime-cement plasters, concrete, aerated concrete, chipboards, and renovation plasters in interiors and exteriors.

It is used for painting insulated façades, lime-cement plasters, concrete, aerated concrete, chipboards, and similar surfaces. The paint is resistant to selected disinfectants (can be used for painting repeatedly disinfected interiors in hospitals). Resistance to liquid action according to ČSN EN ISO 2812-1:2013, Method 1. It shows resistance to wet abrasion according to ČSN EN ISO 11998 class 2 (classification according to EN
13300). The paint is easy to process, health-safe, and environmentally friendly.

Method of applying façade paint:

Brush, roller, AIRLESS spraying e.g. STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700 or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 recommended pressure from 100 – 130 bar, nozzle size 517 or possibly 519, filter in the gun 50 mesh. When applying by spraying, we recommend always conducting tests on the specific equipment in advance.

Example of coating acrylic façade paint

The substrate must be dry and cured. Treat too absorbent, crumbling, or non-cohesive substrates with suitable acrylic primer REMAL, BARLET, or SOICRAT. Dilute the paint with a maximum of 5 - 10 % water and mix thoroughly. Apply the paint after the primer has dried in two layers with a brush or roller. The paint can also be applied by pressure spraying. Apply subsequent layers only after complete drying. The optimal temperature for painting is 15 to 25 °C. For large areas, use a product from the same batch, mix different batches together before use.

Handling of façade paint:

When working, adhere to basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings coming into direct contact with food, feed, and drinking water. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical attention. The product is treated with a biocide. Contains 2-octyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one, reaction mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 220-239-6] (3:1), 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one.

Shelf life of acrylic façade paint:

The product retains its useful properties for 5 years from the date of manufacture, in the original unopened packaging. Store in a dry place at a temperature of 5 to 25 °C.

Disposal of packaging and waste from acrylic façade paint:

Dispose of containers with leftover product at a location designated by the municipality for collecting other waste. Further see section 13 of the product safety data sheet.

Washability of paint in practice is addressed by the standard WET ABRASION RESISTANCE ČSN EN ISO 11998

This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining wet abrasion resistance and washability of wall paint. Regarding the cleanability of coatings, it only defines the test method itself but does not specify the contaminating substances. After drying and conditioning, the painted sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in a test abrasion (cleaning) device. The loss of weight is used to calculate the mean value of the loss of paint thickness. To determine cleanability, contaminating substances are applied to identically prepared samples. Specified contaminating substances are left in contact with the coating film for a prescribed time. Painted, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminating substance was removed, and the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.

For evaluation, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the best - class 5 is the worst. Grading is like in school.
