BARLET silicone facade paint white for coatings lime-cement plasters, concretes, aerated concrete, wood, wood fiber and particle boards, etc. substrates in interiors and exteriors. The substrate must be solid, dry, matured and must be free from biological attack (mold, algae). New plasters must mature for at least 4 weeks (carbonatize).

Method of applying facade paint:

Brush, roller, AIRLESS spraying e.g. STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700 or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 recommended pressure from 100 – 130 bar, nozzle size 517 or possibly 519, filter for the gun 50 mesh. When spraying, it is recommended always to perform tests on the specific equipment in advance.

Example of acrylic facade paint

The substrate must be dry and matured. For overly absorbent, crumbling, or non-cohesive substrates, treat them with an appropriate acrylic primer REMAL, BARLET or SOICRAT. Dilute the paint with a maximum of 5 - 10 % water and mix thoroughly. Apply the paint after the primer has dried in two coats with a brush or roller. The paint can also be applied by pressure spraying. Additional coats can be applied only after complete drying. The optimal temperature for painting is 15 to 25 °C. Use the product from one batch for complete areas, mix different batches together before use.

Substrate preparation:

General conditions that must be followed before painting with facade paint:

• repairs with plaster in outdoor environments are not suitable,
• old non-cohesive paints must be removed with a wire brush, scraper or high-pressure water,
• older substrates must be assessed, unsatisfactory ones removed and repaired with new lime-cement plaster,
• new lime-cement plasters must mature for at least one month,
• the coat of facade paint is thin-layered - it follows the substrate, it is therefore recommended to sweep or rub off sand grains from the surface after the new plasters have dried to prevent shadows on unevenly smoothed plaster,
• the temperature of the substrate and environment during work is recommended in the range of +15°C to +25°C. It must not be lower than +7 °C and must not exceed +30 °C.
• painting cannot be carried out in rain, strong winds and in intense sunlight,
• windows, metal parts and gutters must be covered, dried paint residues are difficult to remove,
• substrates must be dry and matured before starting painting, we recommend checking the moisture of the plaster with a suitable moisture meter before starting painting.
• for painting larger areas, it is recommended to use products from the same batch, or mix individual batches together, especially concerning color shades.
• for some deep shades, there is reduced coverage. It is recommended to undercoat with a more opaque base. This generally applies to yellow, orange, and red shades prepared mainly from organic pigments.
• the combination of different application techniques (roller + brush) must be tested in advance, especially for deep shades, to avoid color differences due to the different surface of the paint.

Handling facade paint:

When working, observe basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings coming into direct contact with food, feed and drinking water. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical attention. The product is treated with a biocide. It contains 2-octyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one, reaction mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EC number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EC number 220-239-
6] (3:1). It may cause an allergic reaction.

Storage life of acrylic facade paint:

The product retains its useful properties for 5 years from the date of manufacture, in its original unopened packaging. Store in a dry warehouse at a temperature of 5 to 25 °C.

Disposal of acrylic facade paint containers and waste:

Dispose of containers with leftover product at a designated place by the municipality for collecting other waste. See also section 13 of the safety data sheet of the product.
