BARLET silicone facade paint white for coatings of lime-cement plasters, concrete, aerated concrete, wood, wood fiberboards, and chipboards, etc. substrates in interiors and exteriors. The substrate must be solid, dry, mature, and free from biological attack (mold, algae). New plasters must cure for at least 4 weeks (carbonation).

Method of applying facade paint:

Brush, roller, airless spraying such as STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700, or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 recommended pressure from 100 – 130 bar, nozzle size 517 or possibly 519, 50 mesh filter for the gun. When applying by spraying, it is recommended to always perform tests on the specific equipment beforehand.

Example of applying acrylic facade paint

The substrate must be dry and mature. Too absorbent, crumbly, or non-cohesive substrates should be treated with a suitable acrylic primer REMAL, BARLET, or SOICRAT. Dilute the paint with a maximum of 5 - 10 % water and mix thoroughly. Apply the paint after the primer has dried in two layers with a brush or roller. The paint can also be applied by pressure spraying. Subsequent layers should be applied only after complete drying. The optimal temperature for painting is 15 to 25 °C. For continuous areas, use products from the same batch; mix different batches together before use.

Preparation of the substrate:

General conditions that must be adhered to before painting with facade paint:

• repairs with plaster in outdoor environments are not suitable,
• old non-cohesive coatings must be removed with a wire brush, scraper, or high-pressure water,
• older substrates must be assessed, non-compliant ones removed and repaired with new lime-cement plaster,
• new lime-cement plasters must be allowed to cure for at least one month,
• the application of facade paint is thin-layer - it copies the substrate; therefore, it is recommended to brush or scrub off sand grains from the surface after the new plasters have dried to prevent the formation of shadows on unevenly smoothed coatings,
• the temperature of the substrate and environment during work is recommended to be between +15°C and +25°C. It must not be lower than +7 °C and must not exceed +30 °C.
• applications cannot be performed in rain, strong winds, or under strong sunlight,
• windows, metal parts, and gutters must be covered; dried remnants of paint are difficult to remove,
• substrates must be dry and mature before starting painting; it is recommended to check the moisture of the plaster with a suitable hygrometer before starting painting.
• for painting larger areas, it is recommended to use products from the same batch; different batches should be mixed together, especially for color shades.
• some saturated shades have reduced coverage. It is recommended to undercoat with a more opaque base. This generally applies to yellow, orange, and red shades prepared especially from organic pigments.
• combination of different application techniques (roller + brush) must be tested beforehand, especially with saturated shades, due to the risk of different colors caused by different paint surface.

Handling facade paint:

When working, observe basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, feed, and drinking water. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical attention. The product is treated with a biocide. Contains 2-octyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one, reaction mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EINECS number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EINECS number 220-239-6] (3:1). May cause an allergic reaction.

Storage life of acrylic facade paint:

The product retains its useful properties for 5 years from the date of manufacture, in the original unopened packaging. Store in a dry place at temperatures between 5 and 25 °C.

Disposal of acrylic facade paint containers and waste:
