BARLET silicone facade paint white for coatings of lime-cement renders, concrete, autoclaved aerated concrete, wood, wood fiber and particle board, etc. substrates in interiors and exteriors. The substrate must be solid, dry, mature, and free from biological contamination (mold, algae). New renders must mature for at least 4 weeks (carbonization).

Application method for facade paint:

Brush, roller, AIRLESS spraying such as STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700, or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 with recommended pressure from 100 – 130 bar, nozzle size 517 or optionally 519, filter for the gun 50 mesh. When spraying, we always recommend conducting tests on the specific equipment in advance.

Example of coating with acrylic facade paint

The substrate must be dry and mature. For overly absorbent, crumbling, or non-adhering substrates, treat with a suitable acrylic primer REMAL, BARLET, or SOICRAT. Dilute the paint with a maximum of 5 - 10% water and mix thoroughly. Apply the paint after the primer has dried in two layers with a brush or roller. The paint can also be applied using pressure spraying. Additional layers can be applied only after complete drying. The optimal temperature for painting is 15 to 25 °C. Use a product from the same batch for uniform areas; mix different batches before use.

Substrate preparation:

General conditions that must be followed before painting with facade paint:

• repairs with plaster in outdoor environments are not suitable,
• old non-adhering coatings must be removed with a wire brush, scraper, or pressure water,
• older substrates must be assessed, non-compliant ones removed and repaired with a new lime-cement render,
• new lime-cement renders must be allowed to mature for at least one month,
• the coating of facade paint is thin-layered - it copies the substrate, therefore we recommend after the drying of new renders to brush or wipe off grains of sand from the surface to prevent the formation of shadows on unevenly smoothed coatings,
• the temperature of the substrate and the environment during work is recommended to be in the range of +15°C to +25°C. It must not be lower than +7 °C and must not exceed +30 °C.
• coatings cannot be performed in rain, strong winds, and during strong sunlight,
• windows, metal parts, and gutters must be covered as dried paint residues are difficult to remove,
• substrates must be dry and mature before starting coatings; it is recommended to check the moisture of the render with a suitable moisture meter before starting coatings.
• for painting larger areas, it is recommended to use products from the same batch, or mix individual batches together, especially concerning color shades.
• with some saturated shades, the coverage may be reduced. It is recommended to undercoat with a more opaque base. This generally applies to yellow, orange, and red shades formulated mainly from organic pigments.
• the combination of different application techniques (roller + brush) should be tested beforehand, especially for saturated shades, due to the danger of different coloration caused by varying surfaces of the paint.

Handling of facade paint:

During work, follow basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, feed, and drinking water. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical attention. The product is treated with a biocide. It contains 2-octyl-2H-thiazol-3-one, reactive mixture: 5-chloro-2-methyl-2H-thiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methyl-2H-thiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 220-239-6] (3:1). It may cause an allergic reaction.

Storage life of acrylic facade paint:

The product retains its useful properties for 5 years from the production date, in the original unopened packaging. Store in a dry place at a temperature of 5 to 25 °C.

Disposal of acrylic facade paint packaging and waste:

Dispose of containers with leftover product at a location designated by the municipality for the collection of other waste. See also section 13 of the product's safety data sheet.
