BARLET silicone facade paint white for coatings of lime-cement plasters, concretes, aerated concrete, wood, wood fiberboards, and particle boards, etc. substrates in interiors and exteriors. The substrate must be solid, dry, mature and free from biological infestation (mold, algae). New plasters must mature for at least 4 weeks (carbonize).

The silicone facade paint is easy to process, harmless to health, and environmentally friendly.

Application method for facade paint:

Brush, roller, AIRLESS spraying, e.g. STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700 or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 with recommended pressure from 100 – 130 bar, nozzle size 517 or possibly 519, filter in the gun 50 mesh. When spraying, we recommend always conducting tests on the specific equipment beforehand.

Example of acrylic facade paint application

The substrate must be dry and mature. For excessively absorbent, crumbling, or non-cohesive substrates, treat with suitable acrylic primer REMAL, BARLET or SOICRAT. Dilute the paint by a maximum of 5 - 10% water and mix thoroughly. After the primer has dried, apply the paint in two layers with a brush or roller. The paint can also be applied by pressure spraying. Additional layers should be applied only after complete drying. The optimal temperature for painting is 15 to 25 °C. For uniform areas, use product from the same batch, mix different batches before use.

Preparation of the substrate:

General conditions that must be met before painting with facade paint:

• repairs with plaster in outdoor conditions are not suitable,
• old non-cohesive coatings must be removed with a wire brush, scraper, or high-pressure water,
• older substrates must be assessed, unsatisfactory ones removed and repaired with new lime-cement plaster,
• new lime-cement plasters must be allowed to mature for at least one month,
• the application of facade paint is thin-layered - following the substrate, it is therefore recommended to sweep or rub sand grains from the surface after the new plasters have dried to prevent the formation of shadows on unevenly smoothed plaster,
• the substrate and environment temperature during work is recommended to be between +15°C and +25°C. It must not be lower than +7 °C and must not exceed +30 °C.
• painting cannot be conducted during rain, strong wind, and strong sunlight,
• windows, metal parts, and gutters must be covered, as dried paint residues are difficult to remove,
• substrates must be dry and mature before starting painting, we recommend checking the moisture of the plaster with a suitable hygrometer before starting painting.
• for painting larger areas, we recommend using products from the same batch, or mixing individual batches together, especially related to color shades.
• some saturated shades may have reduced covering power. It is recommended to undercoat with a more opaque base. This generally applies to yellow, orange, and red shades prepared primarily from organic pigments.
• the combination of different application techniques (roller + brush) must be tested beforehand, especially for saturated shades, due to the risk of different color variations due to differing surfaces of the paint.

Handling facade paint:

When working, observe basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, animal feed, and drinking water. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical help. The product is treated with biocide. It contains 2-octyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one, reaction mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EC number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EC number 220-239-6] (3:1). It may cause an allergic reaction.

Storage life of acrylic facade paint:

The product retains its useful properties for 5 years from the date of production, in the original unopened packaging. Store in a dry place at a temperature of 5 to 25 °C.

Disposal of packaging and acrylic facade paint waste:

Dispose of containers with product residues at a site designated by the municipality for collecting other wastes. See section 13 of the product safety data sheet for more information.
