BARLET silicone facade paint whitefor coatings of lime-cement plasters, concrete, aerated concrete, wood, wood-fiber and particle boards, etc. substrates in interiors and exteriors. The substrate must be solid, dry, mature, and free from biological infestations (molds, algae). New plasters must cure for at least 4 weeks (carbonation).

Silicone facade paint is easy to process, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly.

Application method for facade paint:

Brush, roller, spray AIRLESS e.g. STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700 or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 recommended pressure from 100 – 130 bar, nozzle size 517 or possibly 519, filter in the gun 50 mesh. When spraying, we recommend always performing tests on the specific equipment beforehand.

Example of acrylic facade paint application

The substrate must be dry and mature. Too absorbent, crumbling or non-cohesive substrates should be treated with a suitable acrylic primer REMAL, BARLET or SOICRAT. Thinning the paint with a maximum of 5 - 10 % water and mix thoroughly. Apply the paint after the primer has dried in two coats with a brush or roller. The paint can also be applied with pressure spraying. Further layers should be applied only after complete drying. The optimal temperature for painting is 15 to 25 °C. For consistent areas, use product from one batch, mixing different batches together before use.

Preparation of the substrate:

General conditions that must be followed before painting with facade paint:

• repairs with plaster in outdoor environments are not suitable,
• old non-cohesive coatings must be removed with a wire brush, scraper, or pressure water,
• older substrates must be evaluated, unsuitable ones removed and repaired with new lime-cement plaster,
• new lime-cement plasters must cure for at least one month,
• the coating with facade paint is thin-layered - it copies the substrate, therefore we recommend brushing or rubbing off sand grains from the surface after drying of the new plasters to prevent the formation of shadows on unevenly smoothed painted plaster,
• the temperature of the substrate and environment during work is recommended to be between +15°C and +25°C. It must not be lower than +7 °C and must not exceed +30 °C.
• painting cannot be carried out in rain, strong winds, and under strong sunlight,
• windows, metal parts, and gutters must be covered, dried remnants of paint are difficult to remove,
• substrates must be dry and mature before starting painting, we recommend checking moisture of the plaster with a suitable moisture meter before starting painting.
• for larger areas, we recommend using products from the same batch, or mixing individual batches among themselves, especially concerning color shades.
• some saturated shades have reduced opacity. It is recommended to undercoat with a more opaque base. This generally applies to yellow, orange, and red shades prepared mainly from organic pigments.
• combining different application techniques (roller + brush) must be tested beforehand, especially for saturated shades, due to the risk of different color appearance caused by the different surface of the paint.

Handling facade paint:

Keep basic hygiene rules while working. The product is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, feed, and drinking water. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical attention. The product is treated with a biocide. Contains 2-octyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one, reactive mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EC number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EC number 220-239-6] (3:1). May cause allergic reactions.

Storage life of acrylic facade paint:

The product retains its useful properties for 5 years from the date of manufacture in its original unopened packaging. Store in a dry place at a temperature of 5 to 25 °C.

Disposal of packaging and waste from acrylic facade paint:

Dispose of packaging with remnants of the product in the place designated by the municipality for collecting other waste. See also section 13 of the product’s safety data sheet.
