BARLET silicone facade paint white for coatings of lime-cement plasters, concrete, aerated concrete, wood, wood fiberboards, and chipboards, etc. surfaces in interiors and exteriors. The substrate must be solid, dry, mature, and free from biological contamination (mold, algae). New plasters must mature for at least 4 weeks (carbonate).

Method of applying facade paint:

Brush, roller, spraying AIRLESS e.g. STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700, or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 recommended pressure from 100 – 130 bar, nozzle size 517 or 519, gun filter 50 mesh. When spraying, we recommend always conducting tests on the specific equipment beforehand.

Example of a coating with acrylic facade paint

The substrate must be dry and mature. For overly absorbent, crumbling, or non-cohesive substrates, treat with an appropriate acrylic primer such as REMAL, BARLET, or SOICRAT. Dilute the paint with a maximum of 5 - 10% water and mix thoroughly. Apply the paint after the primer has dried in two layers with a brush or roller. The paint can also be applied using pressure spraying. Add further layers only after thorough drying. The optimal temperature for painting is 15 to 25 °C. For cohesive areas, use products from the same batch; if using different batches, mix them before application.

Preparation of the substrate:

General conditions that must be met before painting with facade paint:

• repairs with plaster in outdoor environments are not suitable,
• old non-cohesive coatings need to be removed with a wire brush, scraper, or high-pressure water,
• older substrates must be evaluated, unsuitable areas removed and patched with new lime-cement plaster,
• new lime-cement plasters must be allowed to mature for at least one month,
• the coating of facade paint is thin-layered - it copies the substrate, so we recommend brushing or sanding off sand grains from the surface after the new plasters have dried to prevent shadows on unevenly smoothed plaster,
• the temperature of the substrate and the environment during work is recommended to be between +15°C to +25°C. It must not be lower than +7 °C and must not exceed +30 °C.
• coatings cannot be applied during rain, strong winds, or intense sunlight,
• windows, metal parts, and gutters must be covered, as dried paint residues are difficult to remove,
• substrates must be dry and mature before starting the coatings, it is advisable to check the moisture of the plaster before coating with an appropriate moisture meter.
• for painting larger areas, it is recommended to use products from the same batch, or alternatively, mix individual batches together, especially regarding shades.
• some saturated shades have reduced opacity. It is recommended to undercoat with a more opaque base. This generally applies to yellow, orange, and red shades made primarily from organic pigments.
• the combination of different application techniques (roller + brush) must be tested beforehand, especially with saturated shades, due to the danger of different color shades resulting from varying surface textures of the paint.

Handling facade paint:

While working, follow basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, animal feed, and drinking water. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical attention. The product is treated with a biocide. It contains 2-octylisothiazol-3-one, reaction mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 220-239-6] (3:1). It may cause an allergic reaction.

Storage life of acrylic facade paint:

The product retains its useful properties for 5 years from the date of production, in its original unopened packaging. Store in a dry place at a temperature of 5 to 25 °C.

Disposal of packaging and waste of acrylic facade paint:
