BARLET silicone facade paint white for coatings of lime-cement plasters, concrete, aerated concrete, wood, wood fiber and particle boards, etc. substrates in interiors and exteriors. The substrate must be solid, dry, mature and must be free from biological contamination (mold, algae). New plasters must mature for at least 4 weeks (carbonation).

Method of applying facade paint:

Brush, roller, airless spraying such as STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700 or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 recommended pressure from 100 – 130 bar, nozzle size 517 or 519, filter in the gun 50 mesh. When spraying, it is always recommended to conduct tests on the specific equipment beforehand.

Example of applying acrylic facade paint

The substrate must be dry and mature. Treat overly absorbent, crumbling, or non-adhering substrates with suitable acrylic primer REMAL, BARLET or SOICRAT. Dilute the paint with a maximum of 5 - 10 % water and mix thoroughly. Apply the paint after the primer has dried in two coats with a brush or roller. The paint can also be applied by pressure spraying. Additional coats should be applied only after complete drying. The optimal temperature for painting is 15 to 25 °C. For cohesive areas, use products from the same batch; mix different batches prior to use.

Preparation of the substrate:

General conditions that must be followed before painting with facade paint:

• plaster repairs outdoors are not suitable,
• old non-adhering coatings must be removed using a wire brush, scraper or pressure water,
• older substrates must be evaluated, unsuitable ones removed and repaired with new lime-cement plaster,
• new lime-cement plasters must be allowed to mature for a minimum of one month,
• the coating with facade paint is thin-layered - it follows the substrate, so we recommend sweeping or rubbing sand grains from the surface after the new plasters have dried, to prevent the formation of shadows on unevenly smoothed plaster,
• the temperature of the substrate and the environment during work is recommended to be between +15°C and +25°C. It must not be lower than + 7 °C and must not exceed +30 °C.
• painting cannot be done in rain, strong wind, and under strong sunlight,
• windows, metal parts, and gutters must be covered; dried paint residues are difficult to remove,
• substrates must be dry and mature before starting the painting; it is recommended to check the moisture of plaster before starting painting with a suitable moisture meter.
• for painting larger areas, it is recommended to use products from the same batch; if needed, mix different batches, especially concerning color shades.
• some deep shades have reduced opacity. We recommend priming with a more opaque base. This generally applies to yellow, orange, and red shades prepared primarily from organic pigments.
• the combination of different application techniques (roller + brush) must be tested in advance, especially when using deep shades, due to the risk of different color effects caused by different surface finishes of the paint.

Handling facade paint:

When working, observe basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for applications that come into direct contact with food, animal feed, and drinking water. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical attention. The product is treated with a biocide. It contains 2-octyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one, reaction mixture: 5-chloro-2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one [ES Number 247-500-7] and 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one [ES Number 220-239-6] (3:1). May cause an allergic reaction.

Storage of acrylic facade paint:

The product retains its useful properties for 5 years from the date of manufacture in the original unopened package. Store in a dry place at temperatures between 5 and 25 °C.

Disposal of containers and waste from acrylic facade paint:

Dispose of containers with leftover product at a location designated by the municipality for collecting other waste. Further see section 13 of the product safety data sheet.
