BARLET silicone base A, white, 20 kg

White silicone facade paint BARLET intended for coatings of concretes, aerated concrete, lime-cement renders, wood, particle board, and wooden fiber boards and similar materials in interiors and exteriors. The substrate being treated requires strength, dryness, maturity, and removal of all biological infestations (moss, mold). New renders require a maturation period (carbonation) of at least 4 weeks.

Method of application of facade paint:

Application with a roller, brush, or AIRLESS spray (e.g., STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700, or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 with a recommended pressure of 100 – 130 bar, nozzle size 517, or possibly 519 and a filter in the gun 50 mesh). In the case of spraying, it is recommended to first perform a test on the given device.

Example of applying acrylic facade paint

The substrate must be mature and dry. Overly absorbent, dusty, or non-cohesive surfaces should be treated with a suitable acrylic primer REMAL, BARLET, or SOICRAT. Dilute the paint with a maximum of 5 - 10 % water and mix thoroughly. Apply the paint after the primer has dried in two layers with a brush or roller. Pressure spraying can also be used. Additional layers should be applied only after complete drying. The recommended temperature for painting is 15 to 25 °C. For continuous areas, use the product from one batch; mix different batches together before use.

Preparation of the substrate:

General conditions that must be met before painting with facade paint:

• repairing with plaster in exteriors is not recommended,
• original non-cohesive layers of paint must be removed using a scraper, wire brush or pressured water,
• the condition of older substrates should be assessed, unsuitable areas removed and repaired with fresh lime-cement plaster,
• for new lime-cement renders, the maturation period of at least one month must be observed,
• the facade paint creates a thin layer that copies the substrate, therefore after drying new renders it is recommended to sweep or sand off loose grains of sand from the surface to prevent shadowing on unevenly smoothed areas,
• the recommended ambient temperature and substrate temperature during application is between +15°C and +25°C. The temperature must not drop below +7°C or exceed +30°C.
• application cannot be carried out in rain, strong wind or intense sunlight,
• gutters, windows, and all metal elements must be covered as dried paint is very difficult to clean,
• before starting painting work, the substrate must be mature and dry; the moisture level of the render is recommended to be checked with a suitable moisture meter.
• when painting larger areas, it is recommended to apply material from the same production batch, or if from different batches, to mix them together, especially for color shades.
• certain saturated tones show lower hiding power, so it is advisable to apply a more opaque base coat. This typically concerns reds, yellows, and oranges made predominantly from organic pigments.
• the simultaneous use of different application methods (brush + roller) should be tested in advance, especially for saturated tones, as this can lead to shade deviations due to different paint textures.
