REMAL Profi is a water-based paint suitable as a paint for gypsum boards. Due to its specific formulation, it is characterized by high opacity and abrasion resistance. It excellently covers, is breathable, abrasion-resistant, and has a high whiteness of 91%. It is used for painting plasters, concrete, gypsum boards, cement boards, chipboard, and renovation plasters in interiors. The paint for gypsum boards exhibits wet abrasion resistance – measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998 – class 5. (classification according to EN 13300).
The REMAL Profi paint with increased durability and natural whiteness is a suitable paint for gypsum boards not only in offices. REMAL Profi paint for gypsum boards is also used as a base for tinting in the TELURMIX tinting system. It is recommended for interior coatings of walls and ceilings, gypsum boards, renovation plasters, and other substrates in residential and office spaces. It is easy to process, health-safe, and ecological.
It is produced in a non-standardized white shade. Intended for tinting in the TELURMIX tinting system. Red and orange shades may be color-fast only under certain application conditions (unripe substrate with high pH) or conditions in the building (UV radiation) due to the chemical composition of the red pigment.
Before painting, remove layers of old and non-adherent coatings. Treat areas infested with mold with the REMAL Sanal renovation product for masonry V1406 according to the instructions. Treat absorbent substrates with REMAL universal primer, while non-adherent and crumbling substrates should be treated with REMAL deep primer. This will remove dust, reinforce the surface, unify absorbency, and ensure adhesion of the coating. The drying time is 4 hours. For preventive anti-mold effectiveness, REMAL anti-mold deep primer can be used. Equalize unevenness on the wall with REMAL filler. For problematic areas (leak stains, etc.), it is advisable to use the REMAL Flek-ceiling isolation coating.
Dilute the anti-mold paint with a maximum of 0.4 L of water per 1 kg of paint. Then mix the anti-mold paint thoroughly. Apply with a brush, roller, or spraying in 2 layers, applying the next coat only after the previous one has dried, at least 4 hours later. The optimal temperature for applying the anti-mold paint is 15 to 25 °C. The temperature of the substrate and environment must not fall below 5 °C during application. For cohesive areas, use product from the same batch; mix products from different batches together before use.
While working, adhere to basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with foodstuffs, animal feeds, drinking water, or for painting children's toys and furniture. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical attention.
The product is treated with a biocide. It contains 1,3,5-tris(2-hydroxyethyl)hexahydro-1,3,5-triazine, 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one+, octhilinone (ISO), reaction mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EC number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EC number 220-239-6] (3:1). May cause allergic reaction.
covering material, such as paper adhesive tape or covering foil, or possibly sanding papers. Don't forget brushes, rollers, stencil brushes, and spatulas.
This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining wet abrasion resistance and the washability of paint. Regarding the cleanability of coatings, it only specifies the testing method but does not specify the contaminants. After drying and conditioning, the coated sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in the test abrasion (cleaning) device. The loss of weight is used to calculate the average reduction in coating thickness. For determining cleanability, contaminants are applied to equally prepared samples. Specified contaminants are allowed to remain in contact with the coating film for a prescribed time. The coated, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminant was removed and whether the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.
For evaluation, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the best – class 5 is the worst. Grading as in school.
How often to paint?
It is generally recommended to paint approximately once every 4 to 5 years. However, if you have small children or pets in the family, for hygienic and aesthetic reasons, it is advisable to repaint approximately every 2 years.
