Interesting fact
Chives are not native to our region; they came from Asia, where they were valued as a powerful aphrodisiac. Today they are among the most widely spread domestic herbs, possibly due to the fact that their greens are a rich source of vitamins (especially B, E, and of course C – 3 times more than in tomatoes), but also carotene, calcium, and iron. Due to the high content of essential oils, it helps with loss of appetite and aids digestion.
