It is an elastic bitumen material slightly modified with synthetic rubber, containing chemical additives that allow deep penetration and use on slightly damp substrates. This penetrating coating can level microcracks in the substrate. The coat is resistant to water, weak acids, and alkalis.
Type of substrate:
Concrete, plaster, masonry, eternit, steel and sheet elements (roofs, flashing, conduits, and penetrations), bitumen-based roof membranes and similar materials, wooden substrates, and wood-based substrates (cement-bonded and gypsum-bonded boards, OSB boards, etc.).
Usage:
As a solution intended for penetration of foundation strips, foundations, underground parts of the building, etc. The material is particularly suitable as a substrate for thermally weldable membranes of all kinds. It is used under waterproofing coatings from DenBit DK-ATN and other coatings based on organic asphalts. Among other things, it can also be used as a standalone lightweight moisture-proof insulation. Excellent deep penetration capability. It is able to level microcracks in the substrate. Resistant to weak acids and alkalis. Suitable for dry and damp substrates.
Type of substrate:
Concrete and similar mineral substrates, eternit, steel and sheet elements (roofs, flashing, conduits, and penetrations), bitumen-based cardboard and similar materials, wooden substrates, and wood-based substrates (cement-bonded and gypsum-bonded boards, OSB boards, etc.).
Preparation of substrate:
The substrate must be firm, free of any impurities (dust, rust), without sharp edges and standing water. It must not be frozen or covered with frost, it can be slightly damp. New plasters and concretes must be mature. Old brittle and peeling layers with weak adhesion must be removed. Blisters in the bituminous membrane should be cut in a cross shape and reinforced using Roof Bitumen Adhesive (Tixoplast) or DenBit BOND. Small unfilled areas in bituminous substrates should be filled with DenBit U repair compound. In case of disruption to the load-bearing substrate, sunken areas need to be filled with special mortars, e.g., Den Braven Repair Compound for Concrete, Den Braven Final Repair Compound for Concrete, and then proceed to supplement the missing waterproofing.
Tools:
Brush, paintbrush, tar brush, spraying equipment – only for penetration of dry substrate.
Working procedure:
Apply by working the material into the substrate with a roofer's brush or paintbrush. In the case of a slightly damp substrate, it is necessary to work it in intensively, do not use spraying equipment on wet substrates. For lightweight waterproofing, apply all additional layers with a paintbrush or roofer's brush after proper drying of the previous layer.
