Basic synthetic anti-corrosion paint designed for coatings on light colored metals and iron.
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
The paint is intended for primer applications on light colored metals and iron, e.g. metal structures, frames, fittings, window sills, gutters, car bodies, sheet metal roofs, steel castings, cast iron and sheet metal radiators for hot water heating. It is also suitable for coatings on steel under nitrocellulose and synthetic paints that dry in air. It is characterized by quick drying and excellent adhesion to various substrates.
Key properties:
• anti-corrosive coating
• excellent adhesion to steel and light metals
• suitable even under nitrocellulose and polyurethane coatings
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The substrate for application must be clean, dry, free from grease, rust, and dust, and mechanically cleaned. Coating on galvanized sheet is possible only after 12 months of exposure to weather conditions. First of all, the surface must be degreased using a suitable cleaning agent (e.g. BALTECH P6402 technical gasoline, BALTECH P6401 acetone or, where possible, warm high-pressure water with detergent content). For possible removal of residues from various salts, it is necessary to rinse the surface with clean water afterwards. Coarse and well-adhering impurities must be removed manually or mechanically (sanding, scraping). Possible rust can also be removed manually or mechanically (metal brushes, abrasive discs) or using rust removers. If chemical rust removers are used, a subsequent rinse with clean water is necessary.
Previously painted surfaces must be cleaned, degreased, and stripped of old non-adhering coatings.
DILUTION: diluent BALTECH S6005 (brush, roller), diluent BALTECH C6000 (spraying)
Theoretical coverage: 10 - 12 m²/l.
WORKING PROCEDURE:
Before use, thoroughly mix the contents and dilute as needed. The paint is applied with a brush, roller, or spraying on the pre-prepared surface.
1. 1 coat with FORMEX ON GALVANIZED S2003 paint. Dries at a temperature of around 20 °C. Drying can be accelerated by adding heat up to 80 °C. The air-dried coating can be overcoated with synthetic or nitrocellulose enamel after just 1 hour, with an optimal thickness of one layer being 35-40 µm.
2. 2 to 3 coats with INDUSTROL UNIVERSAL S2013, INDUSTROL PLUS S2071 or INDUSTROL PROFI U2129.
