multifunctional synthetic primer paint. A base and top coat anti-corrosive satin paint for metal.

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Single-layer satin paint combining the properties of an anti-corrosive primer, intermediate layer and simultaneously top coat. It is intended for direct application on metals in both outdoor and indoor environments. The paint for metal is ideal for painting steel materials, oxidized and freshly galvanized surfaces, such as roofs, metal structures, masts, fences, poles, gates, etc. The paint for metal can also be used for painting absorbent substrates such as wood and particle board. The teflon contained in the paint creates a non-wetting layer on the surface of the coating, preventing dirt, airborne contaminants, and water from adhering and acting on the painted surface. Therefore, the HOSTAGRUND 3v1 PRIM coating exhibits long-lasting durability, excellent weather resistance and perfect barrier protection. It is available in a wide range of shades, and for those who prefer an individual shade, its tint base is available for the realization of an additional 5,000 shades.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The substrate for application must be clean, dry, free of grease, loose rust, and dust, and mechanically cleaned. First of all, the surface must be degreased using an appropriate cleaning agent (e.g. BALTECH P6402 TECHNICAL BENZENE, BALTECH P6401 ACETONE, or where possible, hot pressurized water with detergent). To remove any residual salts, the surface must then be rinsed with clean water. Coarse and well-adhering dirt must be removed manually or mechanically (by sanding or scraping). Any loose rust can also be removed manually or mechanically (with metal brushes or grinding discs).
Pre-treatment of freshly galvanized sheets before painting: prepare a mixture of 10 l of water, 0.5 l of ammonia water (25%) and about 50 ml of wetting agent (detergent). This solution is applied to the treated sheet and after about 10 minutes of action is spread, e.g. with a synthetic wool cloth on a handle, until a metallic gray foam is formed. Followed by thorough rinsing with clean water. The paint is applied after the sheet has dried completely. Absorbent substrates should first be primed with an appropriate primer that ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate. Previously painted surfaces must be cleaned, degreased, and stripped of old non-adhering coatings.

Dilution: BALTECH S6006

Theoretical coverage: 10 - 12 m²/ l for one layer

WORKING PROCEDURE:

The paint is applied to the pre-prepared substrate. Before use, the paint is diluted as needed with BALTECH S6006 thinner and thoroughly mixed. It is applied in 2 to 3 layers depending on the expected environmental demands. The interval for applying individual layers is at least 24 hours. The recommended thickness of one dry layer is 30 – 40 µm. Shades 0912 aluminum and 0970 copper can be applied with a brush and roller only without demanding aesthetic appearance. These shades are mainly intended for spraying.

You may find covering materials useful, such as paper adhesive tape or covering foil, or sanding papers. Don't forget about brushes and rollers.
