Self-priming multifunctional synthetic paint. Basic and top coat anti-corrosive satin finish paint for metal.

CHARACTERISTICS AND USAGE:

Single-layer satin finish paint combining the properties of a basic anti-corrosive coating, intermediate layer, and simultaneously a top coat. It is designed for direct application on metals in both outdoor and indoor environments. The metal paint is ideal for painting steel materials, oxidized and fresh galvanized surfaces such as roofs, metal structures, masts, fences, poles, gates, etc. Metal paint can also be used for painting absorbent substrates such as wood and chipboard. The Teflon contained in the paint creates a non-wettable layer on the coating's surface that prevents dirt, airborne deposits, and water from adhering and affecting the painted surface. Therefore, the HOSTAGRUND 3v1 PRIM finish exhibits long durability, excellent weather resistance, and perfect barrier protection. It is available in a wide range of shades, and for those who prefer an individual shade, a tinting base is available to produce an additional 5,000 shades.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The substrate for application must be clean, dry, free of grease, loose rust, and dust, and mechanically cleaned. First of all, the surface must be degreased using a suitable cleaning agent (e.g., BALTECH P6402 TECHNICAL BENZINE, BALTECH P6401 ACETONE, or where possible, warm pressurized water containing detergent). To remove residues of various salts, the surface must then be rinsed with clean water. Coarse and well-adhered impurities must be removed manually or mechanically (by sanding or scraping). Any loose rust can also be removed manually or mechanically (with metal brushes, grinding discs).
Pre-treatment of freshly galvanized sheets before painting: a mixture of 10 l of water, 0.5 l of ammonia water (25% solution), and about 50 ml of wetting agent (detergent) is prepared. This solution is applied to the prepared sheet, and after about 10 minutes of action, it is spread, e.g., with a cloth made of synthetic felt on a handle, until a metallic gray foam is formed. Following this, it is thoroughly rinsed with clean water. The paint is applied after the sheet has completely dried. Absorbent substrates must first be impregnated with a suitable primer that ensures uniform absorption of the substrate. Previously painted surfaces must be cleaned, degreased, and stripped of old non-adhering coatings.

Thinning: BALTECH S6006

Theoretical coverage: 10 - 12 m²/ l for a single coat

WORKING PROCEDURE:

The paint is applied to the pre-prepared substrate. Before use, the paint should be thinned with BALTECH S6006 thinner as needed and thoroughly mixed. It is applied in 2 to 3 layers depending on the expected environmental demand. The interval for applying individual layers is at least 24 hours. The recommended thickness of one dry layer is 30 – 40 µm. Shades 0912 aluminum and 0970 copper can be applied with a brush and roller only without any claim to aesthetic appearance. These shades are primarily intended for application by spraying.

You may find it useful to have covering material, such as masking tape or covering foil, and possibly sanding papers. Don't forget about brushes and rollers.
