Self-priming multifunctional synthetic paint. Base and top anti-corrosive semi-matt paint for metal.

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Single-layer semi-matt paint combining the properties of a basic anti-corrosive coating, intermediate layer, and simultaneously a top coat. It is intended for direct application on metals in both outdoor and indoor environments. The metal paint is ideal for coatings on steel materials, oxidized and freshly galvanized surfaces such as roofs, metal structures, masts, fences, poles, gates, etc. The metal paint can also be used for coating absorbent substrates such as wood and particle board. The Teflon contained in the paint creates a non-wetting layer on the surface of the coating, preventing dirt, airborne particles, and water from adhering and affecting the coated surface. Therefore, the HOSTAGRUND 3v1 PRIM coating exhibits long-lasting durability, excellent weather resistance, and perfect barrier protection. It is available in a wide range of shades, and those who prefer a custom shade can use its tinting base, allowing for the realization of another 5,000 shades.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The substrate for application must be clean, dry, free from grease, loose rust, and dust, and mechanically cleaned. First of all, the surface must be degreased using a suitable cleaning agent (e.g. BALTECH P6402 TECHNICAL GASOLINE, BALTECH P6401 ACETONE or where possible, warm pressurized water with detergent). To remove any residues of various salts, the surface must then be rinsed with clean water. Coarse and well-adhering dirt must be removed manually or mechanically (sanding, scraping). Any loose rust can also be removed manually or mechanically (metal brushes, sanding discs).
Pre-treatment of the surface of freshly galvanized sheets before painting: a mixture of 10 l of water, 0.5 l of ammonia water (25% solution), and about 50 ml of wetting agent (detergent) is prepared. This solution is applied to the treated sheet and, after about 10 minutes of action, it is spread, e.g., with a cloth made of artificial fleece on a handle, until a metallic gray foam is formed. A thorough rinse with clean water follows. The paint is applied after the sheet has completely dried. Absorbent substrates must first be saturated with a suitable primer that ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate. Previously painted surfaces must be cleaned, degreased, and stripped of old non-adhering coatings.

Dilution: BALTECH S6006

Theoretical coverage: 10 - 12 m²/ l for one layer

WORKING PROCEDURE:

The paint is applied to the previously prepared substrate. Before use, the paint is diluted with BALTECH S6006 thinner as needed and thoroughly mixed. It is applied in 2 to 3 layers depending on the expected demands of the environment. The interval between applying individual layers is at least 24 hours. The recommended thickness of one dry layer is 30 – 40 µm. Shades 0912 aluminum and 0970 copper can be applied with a brush and roller only without a claim for aesthetic appearance. These shades are primarily intended for spray application.

You might need covering material, such as paper adhesive tape or covering foil, or possibly sandpapers. Don't forget brushes and rollers.
