Self-priming multifunctional synthetic paint. Base and top coat anti-corrosive semi-matte paint for metal.

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

One-coat semi-matte paint combining the properties of a base anti-corrosive coating, intermediary layer, and at the same time top coat. It is suitable for direct application on metals in outdoor and indoor environments. The metal paint is ideal for coatings of steel materials, oxidized and freshly galvanized surfaces such as roofs, metal structures, masts, fences, poles, gates, etc. The metal paint can also be used for coating absorbent substrates such as wood and chipboard. The Teflon contained in the paint creates a non-wettable layer on the surface of the coating, preventing dirt, atmospheric deposits, and water from adhering and damaging the coated surface. Therefore, the HOSTAGRUND 3v1 PRIM coating exhibits long durability, excellent weather resistance, and perfect barrier protection. It is available in a wide range of shades, and for those who prefer an individual shade, its tinting base is available for the realization of an additional 5,000 shades.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The substrate for application must be clean, dry, free of grease, loose rust, and dust, mechanically cleaned. First and foremost, the surface must be degreased using a suitable cleaning agent (e.g. BALTECH P6402 TECHNICAL BENZINE, BALTECH P6401 ACETONE, or where possible, warm pressurized water with detergent). To remove any residues of various salts, the surface must then be rinsed with clean water. Coarse and well-adhered impurities must be removed manually or mechanically (sanding, scraping). Any loose rust can also be removed manually or mechanically (metal brushes, abrasive discs).
Pre-treatment of the surface of freshly galvanized sheets before painting: a mixture of 10 l of water, 0.5 l of ammonia water (25%), and approximately 50 ml of wetting agent (detergent) is prepared. This solution is applied to the treated sheet and after about 10 minutes of action, it is spread, for example, with a synthetic fur cloth on a handle, until a metallic gray foam is formed. Followed by a thorough rinse with clean water. The paint is applied after the sheet is completely dry. Absorbent substrates must first be impregnated with a suitable impregnator that ensures even absorption of the substrate. Previously painted surfaces must be cleaned, degreased, and freed from old non-adhering coatings.

Theoretical coverage: 10 - 12 m²/ l per coat

WORKING PROCEDURE:

The paint is applied to the pre-prepared substrate. Before use, the paint is diluted with BALTECH S6006 thinner as needed and thoroughly mixed. It is applied in 2 to 3 layers depending on the expected environmental demands. The interval for applying individual layers is at least 24 hours. The recommended thickness of a dry coat is 30 – 40 µm. Shades 0912 aluminum and 0970 copper can be applied with a brush and roller only without aesthetic considerations. These shades are primarily intended for spray application.
