Self-priming multifunctional synthetic paint. A base and top coat anti-corrosive semi-matte paint for metal.

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Single-layer semi-matte paint combining the properties of a base anti-corrosive coating, intermediate layer, and simultaneously top coat. It is designed for direct coatings on metals in outdoor and indoor environments. The metal paint is ideal for coating steel materials, oxidized and freshly galvanized surfaces, such as roofs, metal structures, masts, fences, poles, gates, etc. Metal paint can also be used for coating absorbent substrates such as wood and particle board. The Teflon contained in the paint creates a non-wetting layer on the surface of the coating, which prevents dirt, atmospheric deposits, and water from sticking and affecting the painted surface. Therefore, the HOSTAGRUND 3v1 PRIM coating demonstrates long durability, excellent weather resistance, and perfect barrier protection. It is available in a wide range of shades, and for those who prefer an individual shade, its tinting base is available for the possibility of realizing another 5 thousand shades.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The substrate for application must be clean, dry, free of grease, loose rust, and dust, and mechanically cleaned. First of all, the surface must be degreased using a suitable cleaning agent (e.g., BALTECH P6402 TECHNICAL BENZINE, BALTECH P6401 ACETONE, or where possible, warm pressurized water containing detergent). To remove any remaining salts, the surface should then be rinsed with clean water. Coarse and well-adhered dirt must be removed manually or mechanically (by sanding or scraping). Any loose rust can also be removed manually or mechanically (metal brushes, sanding discs).
Pre-treatment of freshly galvanized sheets before painting: a mixture of 10 l of water, 0.5 l of ammonia water (25%) and approximately 50 ml of wetting agent (detergent) is prepared. This solution is applied to the treated sheet and after approximately 10 minutes of action, it is spread, e.g., with a synthetic fleece cloth on a handle, until a metallic gray foam is formed. Followed by thorough rinsing with clean water. The paint is applied after the sheet has completely dried. Absorbent substrates must first be saturated with a suitable saturator that ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate. Previously painted surfaces must be cleaned, degreased, and stripped of old non-adhering coatings.

Dilution: BALTECH S6006

Theoretical yield: 10 - 12 m²/ l for one coat

WORKING PROCEDURE:

The paint is applied to the previously prepared substrate. Before use, the paint is diluted with BALTECH S6006 thinner if necessary and mixed thoroughly. It is applied in 2 to 3 layers depending on the expected environmental demands. The interval for applying individual layers is at least 24 hours. The recommended thickness of one dry layer is 30 – 40 µm. Shades 0912 aluminum and 0970 copper can be applied with a brush and roller only without claim to aesthetic appearance. These shades are mainly intended for spraying applications.

You may also need covering material, such as paper tape or covering foil, or sanding papers. Don't forget about brushes and rollers.
