Self-priming multifunctional synthetic paint. Base and top coat anti-corrosive satin paint for metal.

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Single-layer satin paint combining the properties of an anti-corrosive primer, intermediate layer, and simultaneously a top coat. It is intended for direct application on metals in both outdoor and indoor environments. The metal paint is ideal for coating steel materials, oxidized and freshly galvanized surfaces such as roofs, metal structures, masts, fences, poles, gates, etc. The metal paint can also be used for coating absorbent substrates such as wood and chipboard. The Teflon contained in the paint creates a non-wetting layer on the surface of the coating, which prevents dirt, atmospheric deposits, and water from adhering and acting on the painted surface. Therefore, the HOSTAGRUND 3v1 PRIM coating shows long durability, excellent weather resistance, and perfect barrier protection. It is available in a wide range of shades, and for those who prefer a custom color, a tinting base is available for the realization of an additional 5 thousand shades.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The substrate for application must be clean, dry, free from grease, loose rust, and dust, and mechanically cleaned. First of all, the surface must be degreased using a suitable cleaning agent (e.g. BALTECH P6402 TECHNICAL BENZINE, BALTECH P6401 ACETONE, or where possible, warm pressurized water with a detergent). To remove any residues of various salts, the surface must subsequently be rinsed with clean water. Coarse and well-adhering dirt must be removed manually or mechanically (sanding, scraping). Any loose rust can also be removed manually or mechanically (metal brushes, abrasive discs).
Pre-treatment of the surface of freshly galvanized sheets before painting: prepare a mixture of 10 l of water, 0.5 l of ammonia water (25%), and about 50 ml of wetting agent (detergent). This solution is applied to the treated sheet and after approximately 10 minutes of action, it is spread, e.g., with a synthetic fleece cloth on a handle, until a metallic gray foam is formed. A thorough rinse with clean water follows. The paint is applied after the sheet has thoroughly dried. Absorbent substrates must first be soaked with a suitable impregnant, which ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate. Previously painted surfaces must be cleaned, degreased, and stripped of old non-adhering coatings.

Dilution: BALTECH S6006

Theoretical coverage: 10 - 12 m²/ l for one coat

WORKING PROCEDURE:

The paint is applied to the previously prepared substrate. Before use, the paint should be diluted with BALTECH S6006 thinner if necessary and thoroughly mixed. It is applied in 2 to 3 layers depending on the anticipated environmental demands. The interval for applying individual layers is a minimum of 24 hours. The recommended thickness of one dry layer is 30 – 40 µm. Shades 0912 aluminum and 0970 copper can only be applied with a brush and roller without any claim to aesthetic appearance. These shades are mainly intended for application by spraying.

You may need covering materials, such as masking tape or covering film, or possibly sandpapers. Don't forget brushes and rollers.
