Self-priming multifunctional synthetic paint. A basic and top anti-corrosion semi-matte paint for metal.

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

One-layer semi-matte paint combining the properties of a base anti-corrosion coating, intermediate layer, and also top coat. It is intended for direct applications on metals in both outdoor and indoor environments. This metal paint is ideal for painting steel materials, oxidized and freshly galvanized surfaces such as roofs, metal constructions, poles, fences, columns, gates, etc. The metal paint can also be used for painting absorbent substrates like wood and chipboard. The Teflon contained in the paint creates a non-wettable layer on the surface of the coating, preventing dirt, airborne debris, and water from adhering and affecting the painted surface. Therefore, the HOSTAGRUND 3v1 PRIM coating exhibits long durability, excellent weather resistance, and perfect barrier protection. It is available in a wide range of shades, and for those who prefer an individual shade, its tinting base is available for the possibility of realizations of another 5,000 shades.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The substrate for application must be clean, dry, free from grease, loose rust, and dust, and mechanically cleaned. First of all, the surface must be degreased using an appropriate cleaning agent (e.g., BALTECH P6402 TECHNICAL BENZINE, BALTECH P6401 ACETONE, or where possible, warm pressurized water with a detergent content). To remove any residues of various salts, the surface must subsequently be rinsed with clean water. Coarse and well-adhering contaminants must be removed manually or mechanically (by sanding, scraping). Any loose rust can also be removed manually or mechanically (with metal brushes, sanding wheels).
Pre-treatment of fresh galvanized sheets before painting: prepare a mixture of 10 l of water, 0.5 l of ammonia water (25% solution), and approx. 50 ml of wetting agent (detergent). This solution is applied to the treated sheet and after approx. 10 minutes of action, it is spread, for example, with a synthetic fleece cloth on a handle, until a metallic gray foam is created. Followed by thorough rinsing with clean water. The paint is applied after the sheet has completely dried. Absorbent substrates must first be impregnated with an appropriate impregnating agent to ensure uniform absorption of the substrate. Previously painted surfaces must be cleaned, degreased, and stripped of old non-adherent coatings.

Dilution: BALTECH S6006

Theoretical coverage: 10 - 12 m²/ l for one layer

WORKING PROCEDURE:

The paint is applied to the pre-prepared substrate. Before use, the paint is diluted with BALTECH S6006 thinner as needed and stirred thoroughly. It is applied in 2 to 3 layers depending on the anticipated environmental demands. The interval for applying individual layers is at least 24 hours. The recommended thickness of one dry layer is 30 – 40 µm. Shades 0912 aluminum and 0970 copper can be applied with a brush and roller only without the expectation of aesthetic appearance. These shades are primarily intended for spray application.

You may find covering material, such as paper masking tape or covering foil, or possibly sanding papers. Don't forget about brushes and rollers.
