Self-priming multifunctional synthetic paint. Base and topcoat anti-corrosive satin paint for metal.

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

One-coat satin paint combining the properties of a basic anti-corrosive coating, intermediate layer, and at the same time a topcoat. It is intended for direct application to metals in outdoor and indoor environments. The metal paint is ideal for coating steel materials, oxidized and freshly galvanized surfaces such as roofs, metal structures, masts, fences, poles, gates, etc. The metal paint can also be used for coating absorbent substrates such as wood and particleboard. The Teflon contained in the paint creates a non-wettable layer on the surface of the coating, which prevents dirt, airborne deposits, and water from adhering and acting on the coated surface. Therefore, the HOSTAGRUND 3v1 PRIM coating exhibits long durability, excellent weather resistance, and perfect barrier protection. It is available in a wide range of shades, and those who prefer an individual shade can use its tinting base to achieve an additional 5 thousand shades.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The substrate for application must be clean, dry, free from grease, loose rust, and dust, and mechanically cleaned. First of all, the surface must be degreased using a suitable cleaning agent (e.g. BALTECH P6402 TECHNICAL BENZINE, BALTECH P6401 ACETONE or, where possible, warm pressurized water with detergent). If necessary, any residues of various salts must be rinsed off with clean water. Coarse and well-adhering contaminants must be removed manually or mechanically (sanding, scraping). Any loose rust can also be removed manually or mechanically (metal brushes, abrasive discs).
Pre-treatment of the surface of freshly galvanized sheets before painting: prepare a mixture of 10 l of water, 0.5 l of ammonia water (25% solution), and about 50 ml of wetting agent (detergent). This solution is applied to the treated sheet and after about 10 minutes of action, it is spread, for example, with a cloth made of synthetic fleece on a handle, until a metallic gray foam is formed. Follow with a thorough rinse with clean water. The paint is applied after the sheet has dried completely. Absorbent substrates must first be impregnated with a suitable primer that ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate. Previously painted surfaces must be cleaned, degreased, and stripped of old non-adhering coatings.

Dilution: BALTECH S6006

Theoretical coverage: 10 - 12 m²/ l for one layer

WORKING PROCEDURE:

The paint is applied to the previously prepared substrate. Before use, the paint should be diluted with BALTECH S6006 thinner as needed and thoroughly mixed. It is applied in 2 to 3 layers, depending on the expected environmental demands. The interval for applying individual layers is at least 24 hours. The recommended thickness of one dry layer is 30 – 40 µm. Shades 0912 aluminum and 0970 copper can only be applied with a brush and roller with no claim to aesthetic appearance. These shades are mainly intended for spraying applications.

You may need covering material such as paper masking tape or covering foil, and possibly sanding papers. Don't forget about brushes and rollers.
