Self-priming multifunctional synthetic paint. Basic and top coat anti-corrosive semi-matt paint for metal.

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Single-layer semi-matt paint combining the properties of a basic anti-corrosive coating, intermediate layer, and simultaneously a top coat. It is intended for direct application to metals in both outdoor and indoor environments. The paint for metal is ideal for coating steel materials, oxidized and newly galvanized surfaces such as roofs, metal structures, masts, fences, poles, gates, etc. Metal paint can also be used for painting absorbent substrates such as wood and particle board. The Teflon contained in the paint creates a non-wettable layer on the surface of the coating, which prevents dirt, atmospheric fallout, and water from adhering and affecting the painted surface. Therefore, the HOSTAGRUND 3v1 PRIM coating exhibits long durability, excellent weather resistance, and perfect barrier protection. It is available in a wide range of shades, and for those who prefer an individual shade, its tinting base is available for creating an additional 5,000 shades.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The substrate for application must be clean, dry, free from grease, loose rust, and dust, mechanically cleaned. First of all, the surface must be degreased using an appropriate cleaning agent (e.g., BALTECH P6402 TECHNICAL GASOLINE, BALTECH P6401 ACETONE or, where possible, warm pressurized water containing detergent). To remove any remaining salts, the surface must be rinsed with clean water afterwards. Coarse and well-adhered contaminants must be removed manually or mechanically (sanding, scraping). Any loose rust can also be removed manually or mechanically (metal brushes, sanding discs).
Pre-treatment of the surface of freshly galvanized sheets before painting: prepare a mixture of 10 l of water, 0.5 l of ammonia water (25%) and approximately 50 ml of wetting agent (detergent). This solution is applied to the treated sheet and after approximately 10 minutes of action, it is spread, e.g., with a synthetic felt cloth on a handle, until a metallic grey foam is formed. A perfect rinse with clean water follows. The paint is applied after the sheet has thoroughly dried. Absorbent substrates must first be primed with an appropriate primer that ensures uniform absorption of the substrate. Previously painted surfaces must be cleaned, degreased, and stripped of old non-adhering coatings.

Dilution: BALTECH S6006

Theoretical yield: 10 - 12 m²/ l for one coat

WORKING PROCEDURE:

The paint is applied to the pre-prepared substrate. Before use, the paint is diluted with BALTECH S6006 thinner as needed and thoroughly mixed. It is applied in 2 to 3 layers depending on the anticipated environmental conditions. The interval for applying individual layers is a minimum of 24 hours. The recommended thickness of one dry layer is 30 – 40 µm. Shades 0912 aluminum and 0970 copper can be applied with a brush and roller only without claiming aesthetic appearance. These shades are primarily intended for spray application.
