Self-priming multifunctional synthetic paint. Base and top anti-corrosive semi-matt paint for metal.

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Single-layer semi-matt paint combining the properties of a basic anti-corrosive coating, intermediate layer, and simultaneously a top coat. It is intended for direct application on metals in outdoor and indoor environments. The paint for metal is ideal for coating steel materials, oxidized and freshly galvanized surfaces such as roofs, metal structures, masts, fences, posts, gates, etc. The paint for metal can also be used for coating absorbent substrates such as wood and chipboard. The Teflon contained in the paint creates a non-wetting layer on the surface of the coating that prevents dirt, atmospheric fallout, and water from sticking and affecting the coated surface. Thus, the HOSTAGRUND 3v1 PRIM coating exhibits long durability, excellent weather resistance, and perfect barrier protection. It is available in a wide range of shades and for those who prefer a custom shade, a tinting base is available for the realization of an additional 5 thousand shades.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The substrate for application must be clean, dry, free from grease, loose rust, and dust, and mechanically cleaned. First, the surface must be degreased using a suitable cleaning agent (e.g., BALTECH P6402 TECHNICAL BENZINE, BALTECH P6401 ACETONE, or where possible warm high-pressure water containing detergent). To remove any residual salts, the surface must then be rinsed with clean water. Coarse and well-adhered dirt must be removed manually or mechanically (sanding, scraping). Any loose rust can also be removed manually or mechanically (wire brushes, sanding disks).
Surface pre-treatment of freshly galvanized sheets before painting: prepare a mixture of 10 liters of water, 0.5 liters of ammonia water (25% solution), and approximately 50 ml of surfactant (detergent). This solution is applied to the treated sheet and after about 10 minutes of action, it is spread, for example, with a cloth made of artificial fleece on a handle, until a metallic gray foam is formed. Followed by thorough rinsing with clean water. The paint is applied after the sheet has dried completely. Absorbent substrates must first be saturated with an appropriate primer that ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate. Previously painted surfaces must be cleaned, degreased, and free from old non-adhering coatings.

Dilution: BALTECH S6006

Theoretical coverage: 10 - 12 m²/ l per one layer

WORKING PROCEDURE:

The paint is applied to the pre-prepared substrate. Before use, the paint should be diluted with BALTECH S6006 thinner as needed and mixed thoroughly. It is applied in 2 to 3 layers depending on the expected environmental demands. The interval for applying individual layers is a minimum of 24 hours. The recommended thickness of one dry layer is 30 – 40 µm. Shades 0912 aluminum and 0970 copper can be applied with a brush and roller only without regard for aesthetic appearance. These shades are mainly intended for spraying.

You might need covering material, such as paper masking tape or covering foil, or possibly sanding papers. Don't forget brushes and rollers.
