Self-priming multifunctional synthetic paint. Base and top anti-corrosion semi-matt paint for metal.

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

One-layer semi-matt paint combining the properties of a base anti-corrosion coating, intermediate layer, and simultaneously topcoat. It is designed for direct application on metals in both outdoor and indoor environments. The metal paint is ideal for coatings on steel materials, oxidized and freshly galvanized surfaces such as roofs, metal structures, poles, fences, columns, gates, etc. The metal paint can also be used for coating absorbent substrates such as wood and chipboard. The Teflon contained in the paint creates a non-wetting layer on the surface of the coating, preventing dirt, atmospheric deposits, and water from adhering and affecting the painted surface. Therefore, the HOSTAGRUND 3v1 PRIM coating exhibits long service life, excellent weather resistance, and perfect barrier protection. It is available in a wide range of shades, and for those who prefer an individual shade, its tinting base is available for the realization of an additional 5 thousand shades.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The substrate for application must be clean, dry, free of grease, loose rust, and dust, and mechanically cleaned. First of all, the surface must be degreased using an appropriate cleaning agent (e.g., BALTECH P6402 TECHNICAL BENZINE, BALTECH P6401 ACETONE, or where possible, warm pressurized water containing a detergent). To remove residues of various salts, the surface must then be rinsed with clean water. Coarse and well-adhering dirt must be removed manually or mechanically (sanding, scraping). Any loose rust can also be removed manually or mechanically (metal brushes, sanding discs).
Pre-treatment of the surface of freshly galvanized sheets before painting: a mixture of 10 l of water, 0.5 l of ammonia water (25%) and about 50 ml of wetting agent (detergent) is prepared. This solution is applied to the treated sheet, and after about 10 minutes of action, it is spread, e.g., with a synthetic fleece cloth on a handle, until a metal-gray foam is formed. Followed by thorough rinsing with clean water. The paint is applied after the sheet has thoroughly dried. Absorbent substrates must first be impregnated with a suitable primer that ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate. Previously painted surfaces must be cleaned, degreased, and stripped of old non-adhering coatings.

Thinning: BALTECH S6006 

Theoretical coverage: 10 - 12 m²/ l for one layer

WORKING PROCEDURE:

The paint is applied to the prepared substrate. Before use, the paint should be thinned with BALTECH S6006 thinner as needed and stirred thoroughly. It is applied in 2 to 3 layers depending on the expected severity of the environment. The interval for applying individual layers is at least 24 hours. The recommended thickness of one dry layer is 30 – 40 µm. Shades 0912 aluminum and 0970 copper can only be applied with a brush and roller without a claim to aesthetic appearance. These shades are mainly intended for application by spraying.

You may find covering material, such as paper adhesive tape or covering foil, or possibly sandpapers. Don’t forget brushes and rollers.
