Jubin Akrilin is a dispersion acrylic putty designed for high-quality repairs of surface defects (cracks, scratches, depressions, and grooves) in solid wood, veneered or non-veneered chipboard, etc., before their final surface treatment. It meets the requirements of EN 71-3.
It is easy to apply, has good adhesion to the substrate, and dries quickly. Due to its exceptionally low content of hazardous substances, it is also suitable for decorative finishes on children's toys.
Preparation of the substrate
The substrate must be solid, dry, and clean, free from loose particles, dust, grease, and other contaminants. The moisture content of the wood must not exceed 12% (broadleaf) or 15% (coniferous). Resinous surfaces of the wood should be cleaned with nitro thinner or another solvent and allowed to dry thoroughly.
Preparation and application of the putty
AKRILIN is ready for immediate use. Apply it with a stainless steel spatula in such a way that all cracks, depressions, grooves, scratches, joints, and other defects and damages are filled. Shallow defects are repaired with one layer of putty, while deeper gaps and depressions are filled with putty in multiple layers so that the thickness of each layer does not exceed 1 mm. Each subsequent
layer is applied only when the previous layer is completely dry. The dried putty surface is then sanded mechanically or manually with fine sandpaper.
The application of the leveling compound is possible only under suitable weather or microclimatic conditions: the air temperature and the wall substrate must be between +5 and +35°C, and the relative humidity must not exceed 80%. When working outdoors, protect the applied surface from direct sunlight and wind during application and curing, but even on protected surfaces, these works should not be carried out in the rain, fog, or strong wind (>30 km/h).
