High-quality, plastic, single-component sealant based on polybutene. Very good applicability and easy to use, remains permanently plastic, forms a smooth elastic skin on the surface, paintable after 24 hours, very good adhesion to most building materials, resistant to UV radiation and weathering, good chemical resistance. Use of the single-component sealant for all joints with movement up to 5%, filling sealant for various construction applications, jointing masonry, jointing between masonry and window frames or door frames, glazing simple wooden windows (glazing putty), glazing glass into concrete or metal frames, sealing joints of sewage and waste pipes, sealing joints of automotive bodies and containers.
Substrates:
Suitable surfaces: all absorbent and non-absorbent substrates such as wood, concrete, stone, and other common building materials except for PE, PP, Teflon, and bitumen (asphalt). Surface condition: clean, dry, free of grease and dust. Preparation: not necessary. It is recommended to carry out a preliminary adhesion test.
Application procedure:
Application: Apply the sealant using a mechanical or pneumatic dispensing gun. Finish the surface with a trowel. Working temperature: +5 °C to +30 °C. Cleaning: Clean uncured Butyrub immediately after application with White Spirit (paint thinner). Cured sealant only mechanically. Smoothing the surface: with soapy water, Soudal sealant surface smoother. Repairs: Butyrub.
Warning:
Do not use in areas where permanent wetting is a risk. Butyrub can be painted over with most available paints. The used coatings should be sufficiently elastic for application on plastic sealants. It is always recommended to test compatibility of the paint and sealant. Do not use for glazing insulated double glazing and safety glass. Do not use for jointing natural stones such as marble and granite; for these cases, use Silirub MA.
