Soudal acetoxy sanitary silicone designed for sealing joints exposed to increased moisture in areas such as bathrooms, toilets, kitchens, etc. Suitable for corner joints of tiles, around bathtubs, sinks, showers, toilets, etc. Permanently flexible sealant with long-lasting durability. It is resistant to mold, color-stable, and UV resistant.
Characteristics of Soudal sanitary silicone:
- Very easy to use,
- color-stable,
- UV resistant,
- permanently elastic after curing with the addition of fungicides ensuring resistance to mold,
- characterized by a typical vinegar smell.
Application of Soudal sanitary silicone:
- Sealing in sanitary rooms and kitchens,
- Sealing glazing work,
- Sealing construction joints in humid environments,
- Sealing air conditioning systems.
Technical specifications of Soudal sanitary silicone:
- Base Polysiloxane.
- Consistency stable paste.
- Curing system moisture.
- Skin formation (20 °C/65 % r.h.) 10 - 15 min.
- Curing speed (20 °C/65 % r.h.) approx. 2 mm/24 hours.
- Hardness 25 ± 5 Shore A.
- Specific gravity 1.02 (clear), 1.25 (colored).
- Temperature resistance -60 °C to +120 °C.
- Shape memory > 90 %.
- Maximum deformation 25 %.
- Max. elongation before rupture (DIN 53504) > 500 %.
- Modulus of elasticity 100 % (DIN 53504) 0.40 N/mm².
- Max. tensile stress (DIN 53504) 1.60 N/mm².
Surfaces:
Suitable surfaces: all common sanitary surfaces such as glazed ceramics, porcelain; glass, stainless steel, aluminum, etc. (for PVC and acrylics use Soudal Neutral Sanitary Silicone). Surface condition: clean, dry, free of grease and dust. Preparation: to enhance adhesion on porous materials, use Primer 150. It is always recommended to conduct a preliminary adhesion test.
Application procedure:
Application: with a caulking gun (manual or pneumatic). Working temperature: +5 °C to +35 °C. Smoothing surface: with soapy water, Soudal Surface Smoother for sealants. Cleaning: Before curing can be cleaned with acetone or White Spirit (lacquer thinner), after curing mechanically and with Soudal Silicone Remover. Repairs: Sanitary silicone.
