Soudal wood filler, spruce, 250 g

Soudal wood filler is designed for smoothing surfaces of wood, chipboard, cement board, and other absorbent materials, for minor repairs and filling holes, cracks, and unevenness, aligning joints in strip or panel connections, and preparing surfaces before applying paints. The material exhibits excellent adhesion to wood and other absorbent substrates, maintains a stable volume after curing and is easy to sand. For outdoor use, a protective coating must be applied. It features a well-processable paste-like consistency. It can be diluted with water and also cleaned with water. It serves to level wooden surfaces, local repairs, and filling of grooves, holes, and cracks, joints of wooden strips and boards, or to prepare wooden surfaces before painting.

Yield:

For full surface application in one layer, the yield is 0.2 - 0.4 m²/100g.

Curing speed:

Depending on the thickness of the layer, at least 2 hours. A thickness of 0.4 mm takes about 6 hours, a thickness of 0.7 mm requires 7 hours, a thickness of 1.5 mm takes 9 hours, and a thickness of 2 mm then takes 10 hours (at 20 °C and 65% relative humidity).

Surfaces:

Suitable substrates: all common wooden surfaces and substrates made of laminated or composite wood-based panels. Surface condition: clean, free of grease and dust. Preparation: non-adhering surfaces must be reinforced, for example, with acrylic primer, remove any loose particles; no further preparation is required.

Working procedure:

Application: A metal spatula or large smooth trowel is most commonly used for application. Fill holes and cracks in such a way that they do not contain air bubbles. Level the area with a trowel and sand it flat after curing. Local repairs should be filled with a slight overlap above the height of the surrounding surface and after curing sanded to even. Repaired surfaces are typically painted with a topcoat or glazing varnish.
