High-temperature sealant permanently flexible replacing all types and sizes of cork, fibrous, paper or rubber gaskets. It can also be used in combination with the above types of gaskets. Resistant to petroleum products such as motor fuels, oils and other lubricants, water and cooling mixtures of engines. Permanently withstands temperature effects from -60 °C to +285 °C.
Substrates:
Suitable surfaces: metals and all other common substrates. Surface condition: clean, dry, free of grease and dust. Preparation: no special preparation is required.
Procedure:
Application: with a caulking gun (manual or pneumatic). Clean the surfaces of the parts to be joined and apply an even layer of GASKET SEAL on one of the joined parts. Join the parts within 10 minutes and tighten slightly evenly. Final tightening should be done after 1 hour. After complete curing (10-12 hours), the joint is fully functional; any excess sealant can be trimmed off. Working temperature: +5 °C to +35 °C. Cleaning: uncured sealant with paint thinner (White Spirit), cured mechanically or with SOUDAL Silicone Remover. Repairs: GASKET SEAL.
TIP:
If you need to disassemble the joint repeatedly, apply a thin film of oil on one of the surfaces to prevent the gasket from sticking to the surface.
Chemical resistance:
Good resistance to water, aliphatic solvents, mineral and synthetic oils, lubricating greases, diluted inorganic acids and bases. Poor resistance to aromatic solvents, concentrated acids, and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
