How to glue wallpapers on the wall? The substrate for the wallpaper glue must be solid, dry, flat, smooth, free of cracks, and clean. Metal should be treated with a suitable basic anti-corrosion coating. Wallpapers are applied directly to standard construction substrates (plasters, concrete, fiberboard, etc.). If the substrate is painted with a sizing paint, this coating must be removed (by soaking and scraping). To strengthen the substrate and penetrate it, wallpaper glue diluted up to five times with water is used. The penetrating coat must dry for a minimum of 2 hours. Larger unevenness must be repaired first with plaster. This repaired substrate must be sanded before starting the wallpapering.
Depending on the type of wallpaper, the glue is diluted – paper wallpapers 2:1 with water i.e. 1 kg of glue diluted with 0.5 l of water, PVC wallpapers 3:1 with water, i.e. 1 kg of glue diluted with 0.33 l of water), the glue is not diluted for reflective wallpapers.
Before gluing the wallpapers on the wall, cut the wallpapers to the required length. Soak the wallpapers in water for 3-10 minutes. Apply the Apeko wallpaper glue to the prepared substrate, and after 2 minutes, start gluing. The wallpapers are glued from top to bottom and smoothed with a soft brush, sponge, or rubber roller; excess glue is removed with a damp sponge or cloth. The applied wallpapers can be lightly washed after 5 days (if they are varnished) with lukewarm water with a detergent additive. The temperature of the substrate and the surrounding environment must not be lower than +10 °C during application.
