Epolex S2380 two-component floor paint, without hardener, gray, 4 kg

Epoxy floor paint is designed for coatings of heavily loaded concrete surfaces and other mineral absorbent substrates.

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

The paint is intended for coatings of heavily loaded concrete surfaces and other mineral absorbent substrates (masonry, particle board). It is suitable for painting concrete floors, especially in garages, production halls, warehouses, and on covered terraces. It can also be used as a cast flooring. The resulting surface coated with EPOLEX FLOOR PAINT S2380 is resistant to the effects of various chemicals, moisture, and mechanical wear. The paint does not contain solvents and does not change its volume during curing. The coating is not resistant to weather influences, and due to weather conditions, premature chalking of the surface may occur. The final properties are achieved after full curing, which takes about 7 days; however, it is walkable and can be recoated after 24 hours, and dry to the touch after 6 hours. Until the coating is fully cured, it must not be subjected to mechanical or chemical loads. Before use, the paint should be mixed and combined with the hardener in the prescribed ratio.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The concrete substrate must be absorbent and mature for at least 28 days, must be dry and free of dust, and must not be contaminated with grease, asphalt residues, and petroleum products. Dust should ideally be vacuumed with a powerful vacuum cleaner. If cleaning with water jetting, let the substrate dry thoroughly. For substrates with larger unevenness, sanding is recommended. The relative humidity of the substrate must not exceed 5%.

DILUTION: Thinner BALTECH S6300 (only for priming and cleaning tools)

HARDENER: EPOLEX HARDENER S7380

• Weight hardening ratio: EPOLEX FLOOR PAINT S2380 - 100 weight parts: EPOLEX HARDENER S7380 - 25 weight parts.
• Volume hardening ratio: EPOLEX FLOOR PAINT S2380 - 100 volume parts: EPOLEX HARDENER S7380 – 35 volume parts.

The hardened mixture must be processed within 40 minutes (penetration mixture within 60 minutes / 20 °C).

Theoretical yield: 3.5 m²/ 1 kg for one layer of 200 μm

WORKING PROCEDURE:

Penetrating coating on concrete:

The paint is thoroughly mixed in the entire volume, combined with the hardener in the prescribed ratio, and mixed thoroughly again. While stirring continuously, thinner BALTECH S6300 is added in a ratio of 2:1 (2 parts of the hardened mixture to 1 part of thinner). In cases where the absorbency of the substrate is extremely high, it is necessary to treat the surface with penetrating coating repeatedly until a non-porous surface is obtained. Repeat penetrating can be performed after 2 hours of drying (23 °C).

Top coating on concrete:

The paint is mixed in the entire volume, combined with the hardener in the prescribed ratio, and mixed thoroughly in the entire volume again. The paint is not diluted. Most commonly, the paint is poured onto the primed substrate, spread with a squeegee, or rolled with a short-haired roller, and air is removed with an air removal roller. Slip-resistant modifications can be achieved by adding silica sand to the final layer. When applying higher thicknesses, it is recommended to add up to 60% silica sand to the paint before hardening for amounts of paint with particle sizes of 0.2-0.8 mm.

Absorbent concrete substrates must first be treated with a penetrating coating. In cases where the absorbency of the substrate is extremely high, it is necessary to treat the surface with penetrating coating repeatedly until a non-porous surface is obtained - inadequately filled pores can cause the formation of air bubbles in the top coat. Repeat penetrating can already be done after about 2 hours of drying.

The top paint is applied to the primed surface at least 24 hours and no later than 72 hours after applying the penetrating coating in one or two layers (depending on the application method) at temperatures ranging from 10 to 25 °C (both air and substrate). Most commonly, the paint is poured onto the primed substrate, spread with a squeegee (preferably notched) or rolled with a short-haired roller, and air is removed with an air removal roller. Slip-resistant modifications can be achieved by adding silica sand to the final layer. At lower temperatures and higher relative humidity, the curing time of the coating is extended, and the system may not achieve optimal functional properties.

To repair coarser unevenness and cracks in the surface, a filler can be prepared from the hardened mixture. It is made by mixing the hardened mixture with a dry filler (limestone, quartz sand, etc.) in a volume ratio of approximately 1:1 and applied to the dried penetrating coating. During curing, there are no volume changes of the filler, thus preventing surface sinking, even at higher coating thicknesses.

When applying higher thicknesses, it is recommended to add up to 60% silica sand to the paint before hardening for amounts of paint with particle sizes of 0.2-0.8 mm.
