Self-priming multifunctional synthetic paint. Base and top coat anti-corrosive semi-matt paint for metal.

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Single-layer semi-matt paint combining the properties of a primary anti-corrosive coating, intermediate layer, and simultaneously top coat. It is intended for direct application on metals in both outdoor and indoor environments. The paint for metal is ideal for coating steel materials, oxidized and freshly galvanized surfaces such as roofs, metal structures, masts, fences, poles, gates, etc. The paint for metal can also be used for coating absorbent substrates such as wood and particle board. The Teflon contained in the paint creates a non-wetting layer on the surface of the coating, which prevents dirt, airborne deposits, and water from adhering and affecting the painted surface. Therefore, the HOSTAGRUND 3v1 PRIM coating demonstrates long durability, excellent weather resistance, and perfect barrier protection. It is available in a wide range of shades, and for those who prefer a custom shade, a tinting base is available for the possibility of realizing an additional 5,000 shades.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The substrate for application must be clean, dry, free from grease, loose rust, and dust, mechanically cleaned. First of all, the surface must be degreased using an appropriate cleaning agent (e.g., BALTECH P6402 TECHNICAL GASOLINE, BALTECH P6401 ACETONE, or where possible, warm pressurized water with detergent). To remove any remaining salts, the surface must subsequently be rinsed with clean water. Coarse and well-adhering dirt must be removed by hand or mechanically (sanding, scraping). Any loose rust can also be removed by hand or mechanically (metal brushes, sanding discs).
Pre-treatment of the surface of newly galvanized sheets before painting: a mixture of 10 l of water, 0.5 l of ammonia water (25%), and about 50 ml of wetting agent (detergent) is prepared. This solution is applied to the treated sheet and after about 10 minutes of action is spread, e.g., with a synthetic pile rag on a handle, until a metallic gray foam is formed. Followed by thorough rinsing with clean water. The paint is applied after the sheet has thoroughly dried. Absorbent substrates must first be saturated with a suitable primer that ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate. Previously painted surfaces must be cleaned, degreased, and freed from old non-adhering coatings.

Theoretical coverage: 10 - 12 m²/ l for one coat

WORKING PROCEDURE:

The paint is applied to the previously prepared substrate. Before use, the paint is diluted with BALTECH S6006 thinner as needed and thoroughly mixed. It is applied in 2 to 3 layers depending on the expected environmental demands. The interval for applying individual layers is at least 24 hours. The recommended thickness of a single dry layer is 30 – 40 µm. Shades 0912 aluminum and 0970 copper can be applied with a brush and roller only without expectation of aesthetic appearance. These shades are mainly intended for spray application.

You may find covering material, such as paper tape or covering foil, possibly sanding papers. Don't forget brushes and rollers.
