CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Single-layer satin paint combining the properties of a base anti-corrosive coating, intermediate layer, and simultaneously top coat. It is designed for direct application on metals in outdoor and indoor environments. The metal paint is ideal for coatings on steel materials, oxidized and freshly galvanized surfaces such as roofs, metal structures, masts, fences, poles, gates, etc. The metal paint can also be used for absorbing substrates such as wood and chipboard. The Teflon contained in the paint creates a non-wetting layer on the surface of the coating, preventing dirt, air pollutants, and water from adhering and affecting the coated surface. Therefore, the HOSTAGRUND 3v1 PRIM coating exhibits long durability, excellent weather resistance, and perfect barrier protection. It is available in a wide range of shades, and for those who prefer a custom shade, its tinting base is available for the realization of an additional 5,000 shades.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The substrate for application must be clean, dry, free from grease, loose rust, and dust, and mechanically cleaned. First of all, the surface must be degreased using an appropriate cleaning agent (e.g., BALTECH P6402 TECHNICAL BENZINE, BALTECH P6401 ACETONE or, where possible, hot pressurized water with detergent). To remove any residue of various salts, the surface must subsequently be rinsed with clean water. Coarse and well-adhering contaminants must be removed manually or mechanically (by sanding or scraping). Any loose rust can also be removed manually or mechanically (with wire brushes or sanding discs).
Pre-treatment of freshly galvanized sheet surfaces before painting: prepare a mixture of 10 l of water, 0.5 l of ammonia water (25% solution), and about 50 ml of wetting agent (detergent). This solution is applied to the treated sheet and after about 10 minutes of action, it is spread, for example, with a synthetic fiber cloth on a handle, until a metallic gray foam forms. Follow with a thorough rinse with clean water. The paint is applied after the sheet has completely dried. Absorbent substrates must first be impregnated with an appropriate primer that ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate. Previously painted surfaces must be cleaned, degreased, and stripped of old non-adhering coatings.

Dilution: BALTECH S6006

Theoretical coverage: 10 - 12 m²/ l for one layer

WORK PROCEDURE:

The paint is applied to the previously prepared substrate. Before use, the paint is diluted with BALTECH S6006 thinner as needed and thoroughly mixed. It is applied in 2 to 3 layers depending on the expected environmental demands. The interval for applying individual layers is at least 24 hours. The recommended thickness of a single dry layer is 30 – 40 µm. Shades 0912 aluminum and 0970 copper can only be applied with a brush and roller without any aesthetic appearance guarantee. These shades are primarily intended for spray application.

You may find covering materials, such as paper masking tape or covering film, or perhaps sanding papers. Don't forget brushes and rollers.
